The black wires are ground wires so they would go together. The halogen light has a white wire and this will connect to one or both of the yellow wires. To find out what yellow wire to connect it to, use a multimeter to test it out for continuity. Turn the ignition on and find out which yellow wire has power coming through it, touch the multimeter probe to the wire. Connect the yellow wire that has power to the white wire

Need to know if im shifting it right

letting up on the gas is ussualy a good idea because it allows the rpms to closer match the trannys. haveing said that there is speed shifting in which you barely bump the clutch and quickly hit the next gear. this takes a little practice and a good ear.

I left my scooter with friends for 6 months and

it sounds to me like its a bad earth on the battery leads or frame there are just two many parts that are all needing power but are not getting it, witch brings me back to bad earths or claped out battery, if the battery went realy flat it would have finished it off and no amount of charging will bring it back up to full power, try putting a new battery on the bike and checking all the earths points to see if there tight and clean also clean the battery leads, if you think your bike was driven look at the speedo, has it more miles on it or not?

The likely problem is either a sticky float or a problem with the needle and seat.

The remedy is to remove the carb and pull the bowl for cleaning and inspection.

Running issue

Hmm, if it only runs on choke and you have done all of those modifications I would think the re-jetting time is now. How did the bike run before all of the modifications? That is the magical question. If it ran fine before the mods, it's time to re-jet. If it ran bad before the mods. I would undo the mods, get your carbs running correctly and then reinstall the mods again. So I guess you have two choices.

Engine starts and runs great

what kind of bike are we working on?? the avg temp for the elec fan to turn onis around the 220 mark. the best thing to do here is bench test the bike start it up and let it idle, put a fan that moves air in front of the bike, this will help to keep things cool while the bike heats up i know it kinda back-@ssward but do it. a inferred temp gun will help you get the temp, you can pick one up at your local auto parts store. check the temp near the senser for the fan and the radiator itself. keeping a GOOD oil, clean oil in your bike that will help with the cooling as well. If your running a bike with a fuel filter ( If your not GET ONE ) make sure its clean. Bikes with fuel pump, you a two types in tank and external, your in tanks pumps should have a filter on them in the tank, over time they get clogged like a inline filter and can cause poor running as well.
If everything is working as it should you'll need to look into your coils. Heat causes resistance, resistance causes heat and heat causes wires to break down and contact points to to weaken. Coils take alot of abuse when it comes to electricity, it doesn't always happen but it does. coils go out and tire wear odd sometimes.
I hope this helps you out if you need any more help please feel free to contact me

I want to wire up

You never EVER connect anything directly to the generator, you connect it to the battery. On the light the black wire is the ground - connect it directly to the frame;the red one you connect it to the plus+ of the battery. Ideally you should put a simple switch on it to prevent constant use.
