this is not hard you will have to remove the carb to do this but it is very easy!!!

sure is a timing problem. big one.

Put bike up on center stand. Put empty pan below engine. Look under engine to find a bolt about 14, 15 or 16 mm. You will only see one so you can't make a mistake. Remove it and oil will drain as it falls out. Remove the oil filter on the front of the engine (down low, looks like a soup can with the end pressed against engine. You should have bought a new one already). You may need an oil filter wrench ($3 - 8 depending on store. Buy it at the same time as your filter so you get the right size). Oil will drip out, set it in the oil pan to drain. Then replace drain bolt and screw on filter. The remove filler cap on right side of engine. Add oil 10-40 or 20-40 weight usually ok this time of year. Add until you see oil mid-way in the oil level glass on bottom right of engine. Oil volume should be stamped near oil filler cap. Oil weight might be stamped on there too. Replace filler cap and start bike and run for 15-30 seconds. Turn off and let oil settle for a minute. Add oil as needed to get midway in sight glass. Repeat one more time. Check for leaks. Wipe everything clean so you can clearly see leaks when you check tomorrow morning. Good luck and dispose oil properly. Pep boys likely has the oil filter, just ask at the desk with your model and year. Cheers Clean up and dispose oil.

get the bike running(jump start or with a freind push start)take a volt meter and put it on the 20volt scale and put the red lead on the + and the black on the -. If you get12.5- 15 volts than your charging system is working fine and it would be the battery that is not taking the charge. As for the headlight check fuse if ok then pull headlight and use a testlight to see if you have power at the plug. Also check the wires for good conection in the headlight pot. You should have (located in a radiator) a themal switch that senses temperature to turn on the fan. Unplug the wiring from it to see if the fan stops. If this fails, it can do what you are saying.

Hi Todd: Sounds suspiciously like it would be brake fluid. Check to see if it is connected to the rear brake master cylinder. (that's the thing that has a shaft that is connected to the brake pedal) Motorcycles like Grade 4.

There's a black plastic knurled knob under the left side of the gas tank that adjusts idle speed.

fuel comes out of air filters????!! no, definitely wrong

Your clutch is either out of adjustment or it's fried.

There is no "diagram" showing the whole routing of fuel lines in the bike. You need to use different diagrams in Fuel System section of the service manual. Fuel system section starts at page 15 in service manual, but what you really need starts at page 40. I have posted fuel service manual at the end of comment.

There is one forum where users discussed the routing. One user has colored the diagram from service manual to indicate lines routing. Here the diagram:



Here the forum, I quote:

"The red and yellow are the fuel lines that go to the petcock. The green one you left unmarked also goes to the petcock. The line with a question mark is a vacuum line that connects to a part in front of the battery along with the larger lines to the cylinders."

Just measure the voltage at the battery with the engine idling - in a normal system you should have around 14.2 volts. If its lowerthan that you will need to measure the voltage given by the stator, it should be above 14 volts AC. if you get that then the rectifier is defective, if you get less it's the stator itself.
Beware, the stator should be the 6 wire version, the cheap chinese copies, with 5 wires, are *******, they don't deliver more than 13 volts so it can't charge the battery.

If the problem worsens as the engine gets warmer, than it is mostly likely running too rich...The engine uses more fuel at start up when its cold, so if its running rich there will be more fuel than is necessary when it warms up. Lean the fuel mixture a bit.----------- Also other possibility is faulty starter relay, the relay getting stuck when engine warmed and releases when engine is cold.Check the starter and starter relay.If all checked ok, then battery is the issue.Try with another battery, this will confirm the problem.This will help. sounds like a dodgy earth either reseat the one you have or drill a new one

Look at the sidewall of both tires. There will be a 'MAX PSI' embossed on the tire. It will probably say Max 45 PSI. At 45psi the bike will ride like a rock. At 15psi it will ride really squirrely. Find a psi at which you feel the bike handles well and rides well. One rider may weigh 125 pounds and the next rider may weigh 300 pounds. The best psi for each rider will be different due to weight. Chances are that 30 to 35 psi will do the trick. Please rate my answer. Thanks!

That could be caused by excessive endfloat on the starter motor.
Remove the motor and check it. Alternatively, the engine may be stiff to turn or a poor connection on the starter motor circuit.

Hi, firstly dont think for a miniute that the black wire on your new light is the earth, using the battery as a power source put one of the wires to earth and the other to live, as the led light will only work if the power is conected to the rite pole it is important to establish wich of the new wires is earth, you may have to swap them around to get the correct order, and then conect each of the other wires to the batt poss to check the lite works,when you are happy you have the correct order you can fit it to the bike, on the kawasaki blk and yellow is earth , although you have 6wires they are only 3wires in the loom wich double up to 6 for the 2 bulbs in the lite unit, you can leave 1 of eah colour disconected,
