The small needle valve which is actuated by the float could be stuck open because of some dirt under it.Remove the carb and pull the float bowl off and you will see what I mean.Sometimes you have to replace the needle valve since they do wear out and cause this problem.

I have a 2003 Honda

The "clunk" sound you hear are the "dogs" and "slots" on the gears engaging when you shift. All of your bikes have a "constant mesh" transmission which means ALL of the gears on the main shaft are meshed with ALL of the gears on the counter shaft ALL of the time. Any "clunk" or "grinding" sounds you may hear while shifting are coming from dogs and slots trying to line up and engage.------The transmission clunking while shifting is more likely caused from clutch not disengaging properly than from the gearbox itself. Clutch adjustment, primary oil level or condition would be the likely cause. ---------- Check the clutch action. Put the bike up on the center stand, and
ensure that the rear tire doesn't rotate when holding the clutch in
fully, in any gear. If the clutch isn't releasing fully, there may be a
touch too much pressure on the engine side of the transmission for a
quick/smooth gear change. ---------
The viscosity of the oil and / or the "dirt" in the oil - (or any
combination of the above) MAY cause the clutch things to hang when you
shift -This can also cause clunk or other noise.Replace the oil will exact recommended for your model.
------------- This troubleshooting will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

2005 Honda CR 250 starts then races to full

First, listen to, or look at the the slide in the carburator as you move the throttle open and closed to see that it's moving free and not bound. (You can see it with the air filter out) Next, make sure you have a 1/8" or so play in the throttle tube left to right so it isn't binding there.
If all looke good, you have a carburator issue, like a float or needle stuck, or something plugged up.

New crf250r breaks down at high revs since new

Thats not normal. You could get a bike off the show room floor and completely skip the break in period and it would run wide open. If your bike wouldn't rev past quarter throttle there is something wrong. With a blackened silencer and a motor that dies at quarter throttle I'd say you've got a problem with your injection system flooding your motor with fuel. I run 3 warm up and cool down rotations and go ride like normal. After 4 tanks of fuel your bike is more than broken in. If you aren't familiar with the injection system take it to the dealer and get someone to look at it. If you bought it new it should be covered as a manufacture defect.

I have a 98 cr250 and need to know how to fix the

the easiest way to do this is, to remove the shift lever, then with a very small screwdriver or similar tool, prise out the old seal, then drop the new seal in over the shaft, and just tap the new one in. Hope this helps. If not, you can always remove the engine side case, pop the old seal out and the new one in.

My Honda cr250 wont shift from second to third. I

hopefully the simple fix is the gear stick is bent or adjusted high and hitting the case or something, apart from that the right hand side cover has to come off and check the selecter, if thats ok it may be internal gear problem
