2004 Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade - Page 4 Questions & Answers
I have lost a key for a honda cbr 1000 2004.
I would be amaized if there was an easy bypass for this. I would really start looking for that key. The key, barell and ECU are matched. If you lose a key with a HIPS equiped bike you are in or a big bill as all 3 units need replacing. There is a chip in the key which is matched to a coil in the ignition which has a code embeded in the ECU. Good luck.

You can accidentally UNPLUG the tip sensor if you remove/jar the front fairing. Verify that it is plugged in. If you uninstalled the tip sensor, make sure it is installed in the correct position. Here's the service manual next steps after that check:
First thing the SM states when you turn the key and get no fuel pump "noise" is to inspect the fuel pump by measuring the voltage between the terminals. If there is battery voltage, check the main fuse (20A), sub fuse (10A), engine stop switch, fuel cutoff relay (relay box under left middle cowl), engine stop relay, bank angle sensor, and finally, ECM.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, I would suspect an
air leak. Possibilities then are:
- rubber lock/clamp, coupling from air box to each carb not seated properly, loose, misaligned or not connected;
- torn, defective, misaligned air filter;
- half of the air box is loose, not seated properly.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy New Year.
Pls be informed that due to my current rank and rating, even a Helpful would be detrimental to my status. Should this solution not address your concern, it would be appreciated if you could just not rate this at all. Cheers.
