it depends on your timing problem it could come from your key way. your flywheel could be out. or if you refer to your timing chain it should be marked with a line on it and a marking on your top cog if u can get your piston top dead center and line up both marks you should be on your way thabks hope this solves your problem.. ladjr2

The engine does not start if there is a wrong setting of the fuel and a wrong timing of the spark.So unless the settings are correct the presence of spark and fuel is not the condition for the engine to fire and start.
So you need to check the timing of the spark with relativity to the TDC. set it to the correct level. Now remove the plug and check the spark, check the intensity. If low check the HT coils and the triggers. Also check the fuel settings ,check the cylinder for over flow after removing plugs and pumping out the excess, then replace plugs and try to start.

Use 10w40 oil in the bike. Do not use synthetic oils or oils with "special" additives. The fancy oils often swell the friction plates in the clutch then you need a new set of clutch plates.

Check your spark plug as it may be fouling

Check the cdi, stator and coil, as well as all wire connections and fuses

This could be the stator has failed, the cdi has failed or the coil has failed, check all the connections first, then test for power at each of the above items, and rule them out one at a time

Certainly its your oil rings that are worn and needs to be replaced...its an engine rebuild, the rings are located on the pistons inside the engine block.

Ok. Start from scratch just to make sure your not missing something simple. Verify you have compression on your cylinders. If you dont have a compression tester you can always use your thumb and spin the bike over.If you have good compression, then the next issue is spark. Pull off a spark plug wire with a pair of insulated pliers, hold it next to the plug and try to start the bike.If you have no spark then that is your starting problem.If you have good spark, then your last issue is going to be fuel. But I am betting you have a spark issue. Good luck.
