My battery went flat fitted

Could you have left the ignition switched on? Recharge the battery, refit it, with the ignition switched off, connect the poss feed first, secondly as you replace the earth wire, if you get any level of spark as you touch the earth to the battery, then you have a voltage drain, this could be a result of external accessorze like an allarm, to a faulty rectifier, if you have no spark then there is no drain and you would have to question the integrity of the battery,

Hi i have a yamaha rz 250 85 model,it is leeking

Hello,

The problem is most likely with the float being stuck, or bad, in the carb bowl. If the float has become heavy, filled with fuel, then the gas will keep flowing through the carbs. The floats operation is when in the down position fuel will flow through the carb - when up fuel stops flowing.

If it has a float plunger, check it's operation for proper movement.

Hope this helps. If you find this information useful, please vote on this post. Thank you.

Regards,

Oz

Brand new battery fully charged,

Well, have you checked all the fuses and I mean all fuses. It sounds like one of you main fuses just before starter solenoid, the ribbon type is not delivering to the starter motor. Check it first.

Was runnung fine but then started fireing on one

22 miles not far enough to keep me from contacting service tech. that worked on it for hire.I'd ckeck the sparkplug wires, make sure they are staying in contact at the plug. The fuel - air system needs to be assembled to work properly.if you are right about the fuel not working properly cleaning fuel system is needed.just putting cleaner in the fuel may not fix trash in system.

Starter

could be the wires need cleaning or new ends.or low battery power. check battery for 12 or 13 volts.if good on volts disconnect starter wire(dissconnect battery first) then hook up dc volt meter to starter hot wire and a ground at the battery.watch volt meter when u press the start button,do you still read more than 12 volts. if not replace solenoid.

Fuel system diagram for a vtr firestorm

do you have a charol system in the bike because when you take off the tank the little pressure line on the bottom of the tank is suppose to drain into that ,...now if its gone that would possibly explain the leak. but one day i had it pissing out like a race horse and thought it was going to explode..i took the seat off and looked around and found that i had bad o-rings on the main t-fitting going to all the carbs. i just went and bought a salvaged one at a junk dealer popped it in an viola! the bike worked better than it ever did.

Bike had cam chain tensoner and 2 valves replaced,

Check the valve lash (clearances). If not enough clearance, the valve(s) could be not fully seating which would create the problem you have described.
