The click u hear means your neutral isn't the problem, it means your new battery is trying to start the engine, however the power isn't making it to the starter. check the battery cables for good connection in the ends of the wires and at the start relay (the positive wire from the battery goes to the start relay that may need replacing) also from the start relay that you hear clicking down to the starter.make sure cable and nuts that hold them are clean in good shape. to get the neutral lite to come on the side stand doesn't do it, the shift lever does. you can be sure you are in neutral when the bike can roll without the clutch being pulled.If the bike is in neutral and the lite doesn't come on then replacing the bulb or sensor might be necessary.

Your terms are inconsistent. Female 5 pole receptacle on the bike is what you need? You have a 4 pole male plug on the trailer? You are looking for some sort of adaptor? Please show a picture of both ends, it would help.

My '96 does not have a fuel reserve. It does have a warning light that comes on showing a low fuel level at about 1 or 1.5 gallons.

First off, always change fuel filter first. Cold also be the fuel pump not getting the proper amount of current due to a bad connector. A shop manual would help with this.

You more than likely have a blown fuse or a bad relay or both. Also could be a bad connector in the wiring that feeds the pump.

Could be a malfuctioning brake light switch or the foot pedal brake light switch adjusted too tight. Also check for a bad relay or fuse.

Replace it.

I know that there is a seat height difference from the ground up so my thoughts are doubtfull at best.
