Hey fellas, have a 94

You have a wet clutch, and it has many disc's. 1/2 are metal (Aluminum or steel) and the other half are fiber. (Like a brake shoe material) The fiber ones wear out, and it will slip. Most kits have all of the disc's, and that is what you should replace, and then re-adjust your clutch lever.
Remember to soak the fiber disc's in oil before installing new.

Hi , Sorry to hear this about your bike but follow these instruction . Firstly remove the spark plug . put your bike with the back wheel off the grown and in any gear try to turn the back wheel . due to no compression you should technically turn the rear wheel in gear . If this does not work and it will not kick start without the spark plug out and still remain seized i am afraid that you will need to look at getting a new top end rebuilt . Give it a try and let me know how you go .

Place your bike on a paddock stand, rear wheel in the air. Put it in top gear, (if it is difficult to change gear then it may be gearbox and not engine), remove the spark plugs (check for debris on the plugs) and turn the rear wheel slowly. The engine should move with ease, as there is no compression due to the plugs being out.
If it doesn't move, either the engines main bearings or piston/s have seized. It is time to strip the engine down and find out which one!
Check spares prices first as it may be cheaper to buy a recon engine from a warranted dealer, (not a rippoff merchant).
Hope that helped.

Stalling, won't idle, and glowing header pipes are all symptoms of two possible problems: insufficient valve tappet clearance (adjust the valves), and/or plugged up carburetor from sitting (disassemble the carb and clean it).
Adjust the valves, first - and see if that doesn't solve the problem.

The charging system is over charging or you are putting the wrong replacement bulb in. My first thought is that the rectifier has burned out or somehow other malfunction. You will also need to check the battery as a malfunction in the rectifier will over charge the battery and actually boil the liquid (acid) out of it.

Dear expert, I just bought

Hi,

Carburettors are notoriously difficult things to balance without the correct tools. I could not advise that you attempt to try this yourself as there are too many possible variations on the fuel mix and manifold vacuum pressure in the carbs.

The only way to balance carbs properly is to use a mercury manometer. The manometer measures intake manifold vacuume pressure and this tool is specifically designed to set the carbs properly. This will have a major effect on the overall performance of your bike.

Take your xr600 to a proper tuning shop and for a small fee they will set the carbs up properly for you. You will notice a major improvement in the bike and you will definitely not regret it!

Please remember to rate my answer through our rating system. Many thanks for using FixYa.
