Why dose my rear shock on my 250 dirt bike make a cracking noise
try each suspension bolt in turn just so they are loose and move suspension up and down , as i think that one of the bushes could be dry of grease! when was the last time the rear suspension system and the swing arm pivot spindle was removed and greased up ?? some pivot points mite have a grease nipple , but i suggest if this is the problem to remove and clean bolts and the holes then grease up so to last ! depends how much you use the bike in wet or sandy conditions as when to repeat this also !!
Need to change brakes front. Any manual ?
Any bike shop and some auto parts stores carry Clymer motorcycle manuals. Just pick the one for your bike and you'll find yourself able to do almost anything with practically nothing!
My bike starts but dies right away what's wrong
Sounds as if you don't have any gas to give it! Turn off the tank fuel tap, remove the carburetor fuel hose, and place the end in a clean can or jar. Turn on the tap again--you should get a small stream of fuel running from the hose. If it just drips, turn off the tap again, unscrew the small bowl under the tap and remove the brass filter screen just above the bowl. Soak it for a while in carburetor cleaner, rinse in fresh cleaner, then put it all back together. Turn on tap again and check for fuel flow. If still weak, turn the tap to 'reserve' position--is the flow still weak? If so, remove the fuel tap bowl and place the can/jar underneath and turn the tap on again. If still slow, open the fuel cap up on top to make sure that tank vacuum is not stopping flow. If nothing helps, you will need to remove the tank, drain the fuel out and remove the fuel tap to clean the two tubes that are sticking out of the top. You may need compressed air to get this accomplished. Good luck!
88 xr250 rear shock leaking oil
It is normal for it to leak a little bit. If it is a pretty bad leak then replace the seal. Very easy to do once you get it off your bike, from now on dont lay your bike on its side unless you have to lay it down for a accident, other wise set it on blocks or what ever but try not to lay it on its side cause it can cause you to have other major problems that you do not want to hassle with
2006 Honda XR250, How many Km should I change the oil?
depends if your doing a lot of short outings etc ! ? if the oil is black then change it , do 100km after oil change and check condition ! mite take a few oil changes to get clean unless your up to stripping the engine and clean everything !? if using for competition then its different again , change after each meeting as harder work out and need to keep quality of oil to max ! also the piston and rings are changed after every meeting , try and get the xr manuel as its got the periods of replacements etc !
Chat dirt bike problems
Could be coil or kill switch... check spark plug wire and contact by pulling off and checking if it will arc when held within 1/4" from a metal part close enough to reach... do this when dark so u can see the arc if and when it happens... if no arc then replace wire, then coil...
Good luck
Only stays cranked on full choke.
your carb. is gummed up. Get some carbeurator cleaner spray and spray it into the air intake as it is running until it clears up. if it wont clear up, you will have to have the carb rebuilt.
How do i remove the
Hi There.
There is no bearing in the forks. you are trying to take aparts the triple trees.
to remove the front forks
jack bike up
remove front wheel
remove fender
loosen the clamps that go around the forks.
there are 2 triple trees, upper and lower , the upper has the nut your taking off, of course the lower is the bottom. both have clamps that hold the forks in.
then just pull and twist in a downward motion to get the forks out.
reinstallation is reverse steps.
note how much fork is sticking up through the hole in the top triple prior to removal.
if you do want to remove the triple trees and replace your neck bearings, you will have to cut the bottom bearing off, i've never been able to remove those bearings without ruiing them.
that bearing is a very tight fit.
Hope this helps you out.
thumbs up to the do-it-yourselfers
Best regards
Big Al
