Nice bike, where the heck is it melting?? At the exhaust or the radiator? If the pipes are too hot, getting discolored, it might be burning rich, and getting hotter than normal. If the radiator is the culprit, get it refreshed, check the thermostat. Make sure the fans are working, Mine come on at 210 degrees. I wish they would come on sooner, but I never messed with it. you're being pretty vague, but i'll try. The hose you're probably talking about is an overflow hose off the air filter box. It's supposed to be there. I would bet that you didn't seal the airbox properly and its running too lean. check ur rubbers.

Try jumping it. Your batterie still might not be up to the task. If that don't work check the conection and ground on your starter. Sounds like soelonoid is not working.

you have wet the ignition system , carefully use a hair dryer to dry it out and spray with WD40.

If you turned the engine off with the kill switch and not the ignition key the headlight will stay on.
Make sure you turn the ignition key off.
