Are you using correct plugs & gap, is the air filter clogged, are plug wires bad & leaking current to plugs, is coil bad?

Check the bulb first, then wires from tail light to switch, check switch at foot brake. Does it light work using front brake?

I'm thinkin' you need to adjust your clutch cable

d08SEE indicates a high voltage condition or possibly a bad ground or regulator on it's way out Check your grounds as a starter then reset the codes. Usually you'll find that your stator is getting ready to take a dump. 2000 and early HD's were famous for frying stators.

The drain is under the crankcase. Please review the video I'm attaching. Any questions hmu. A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you.

On most softail bikes, the "horseshoe" oil tank has a drain mounted down low on the frame. Look along the bottom side of the oil tank from the right side of the bike. You'll see a hose or a pipe going downwards towards the transmission. The rest of the pipes run to the engine. Follow this on down and it should run along the frame just behind and below the transmission. It'll have a plug in the end of the hose or pipe. Remove the plug and the engine oil will drain out.

theres a 1/2" nut in center of your dash remove it and then unplug the wires from the switch and take out the for 1/4" screws holding it and thats it

If the motor was running ok before you changed the starter motor you must have damaged something. Changing a starter motor on a softail harley involves removing the oil tank and wiring. You must have damaged something while doing this. Logic dictates this. Check everything that you touched or moved.

Why did you change the starter? Because it had a dead battery? If your battery is not getting charged (is the headlight bright when the engine is running?) you will get kno spar pretty quickly.

There is no "diagram" for the brakes. If you need a picture of the parts get a parts breakdown copy of the parts page from an HD parts department.

Sounds like the starter drive is bad.
