Flooding at idle
Well....the float on the carb probably needs to be adjusted. If you buy a gasket (set) for it, there may be directions how to adjust it, or you may have to get a rebuild kit. Carbs should not be that scary. Loosen the 4 screws on the corners (maybe more), and just kinda "crack" the seal of the gasket. Dump the gas into a safe container, maybe with a paper towel over the hole, so you can see what kind of gunk falls out, and doesn't contaminate the gas. Take the bottom off all the way now, and keep holding the carb upside down, and wipe it all down with a clean rag. Gently scrape the old gasket off both sides, and look at where the float connects to the housing, probably a pin holding it in, it should slide right out. Now under that spot, there should be a needle valve, pull it out gently. Wipe it off good, there may be crud on it, and in the hole it came out of. To clean inside the hole, don't use just a plain old Q tip, it could leave behind a little fuzz, which could keep the needle valve from seating all the way. Wrap a little bit of a cloth rag, or maybe a good paper towel around it. Depending on the carb and kit you got, you can probably put it back together now, and adjust the float. Job WELL DONE!!!
