Xr250r spring found loose in top end rebuild

Go to bikebandit.com and search the microfiche. Perhaps its part of a spark advance mechanism. Sounds too small for an internal part , at least for the head. Some times you find a small spring pushing a ball held in by a bolt on the bottom of the engine(pressure relief valve?). Do you have any friends helping that are practical jokers?

if it has never been removed before, its going to be difficult to remove because of the way the factory puts it on. I have used a pribar to get mine off...it takes some force.

1978 Suzuki GS 1000, need manual would like to

The best I can offer is a 1980 GS1000. Ninety eight percent of the 1980 manual applies to your 1978 bike. The biggest differences are in fenders, gas tank, decals, trim and seat designs. Go to the site below for a free download. www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp

1980 gs1000

Fuel taps or petcocks can be purchased second-hand extremely cheaply from motorcycle wreckers, dismantlers or salvage yards.

Either take your old one with you or take an aluminium foil impression from the tank petcock mounting area. (bolt spacing and o-ring size etc.)

Ask for same or similar model at first to guage availability. Just be aware of the height difference between fuel on and reserve inlet stems.

Cheers.

Need to rewire 78 suzuki motorcycle

Hello. Go to any auto parts store or bike shop and pick up or order the Suzuki manual for your bike. It will be about $25. but you will use it many times and always be glad you have it. In there you will have all of the wiriing diagrams.

Regarding your current problem check the ground and then check the switch itself. With a 78, corrosion often affects the ground and all of the internal electrical components. Joe
