Hi I have a 2011 EFI Hyosung gt650. I have just removed fuel tank to replace rear shock. All parts refitted. And now I can't start bike. I have the bike turning over but no brrrrm. Have rechecked the fuel lines are fitted correctly. But still no go. Any ideas please.

If the bike is a carburettor model you need to clean your jets. Sounds though you have blocked main jet. Im guessing bike has sat for a while at some stage.....

Sounds to me like the starter motor is jamming, the clicking is the solenoid working so thats ok. Remove the starter motor and connect direct to a battery but be carefull as if it does run it will jump out of your hand so best to clamp it to a bench. If it is ok its probably the sprag clutch thats jammed. Good luck

It is FI and stands for Fuel Injection, take it to a bike mechanic and get them to check the fault codes. It means there is an issue with the bike that needs to be sorted out.

Backfires are when fuel travels through the cylinders without combusting then explodes in the exhaust pipe. Fuel supply/combustion issue. It seems likely there's a problem either with the mix going into the cylinders (carbs fuel lines or air intake), or with timing. These can affect a bike at particular speeds and throttle positions. If using the choke has helped at some point that's a further indication (the choke changes the gas/air mix). ,,,

need to clean out fuel system. see where fuel is cut of wether from tank tap or in carb

The jets on the carb need to be cleaned.

The fuel mixture is too rich. adjust the air mixture screw in until the engine starts to die and then gradually turn it the opposite direction .5 to 1.5 turns and see how that does.

Ya it sounds like the blue 15A fuse under the back seat on the left side. It says spare 15a on it. Unclip the top of it and there will be two 15a fuses in it. One is probably popped the other is the spare

The battery may be dead and won't receive a charge. If you haven't already, try changing the battery, but charge the new battery on a battery charger before you put it in. You don't want the charging system to have to start off trying to charge another partially charged battery.

Does this model have a switch on the side stand. If so it could be faulty and fooling the bike into thinking the side stand is down and stalling it for safety.

Replace the exhaust gaskets in the head and pipe connections. This should minimize the the popping. Air leaks into the exhaust and re-ignites the unburned gases.

check the fuses??then burp ur system. take off rad cap and let run till hot. This will release any air in tank. You will get some over spill. Let run at least ten minutes at IDLE. If you romp on it with the cap off, the mess will get big quick

it sound about right but you may have a high drain device running like add on heahlight ot xenon bulbs the charging system only acomidates its original design so if you add accesories that have high drain it wont let your battery charge or you may have electrical problem lick corroded cables bad fuse or a burnt alternator! good luck!

I expect the actual engine temperature is correct, the battery is going flat.
Check the charging system. There should be 13.8 volts on the battery with the engine running, possibly up to 14.5 volts.
