2002 Hyosung GV250 running problems

Time for carb cleaning , blow the jets with compressed air, check the float level.
Check the spark plug and replace if neccessary.
Check the air filter too, and if you don't have an 'inline' filter for your fuel line, install one.
Basically yr bike's engine needs a tune up...check the valve clearance too!
Hope this helps!

I have a 2002 Hyosung GV 250 Aquila it runs fine

Your clutch works by being submerged in oil, check your oil level and make sure its touching the stick. If this is a rebuilt engine expect some oil consumption.

2011 yamaha 1300 stryker----after changing my oil and filter using penn-zoil 5-20 oil my oil light comes on and stays on for about 2 minutes while I am riding the bike. It does this several times. Wha

Hi David, There is a few possibilities here. The first, and probably least likely, is that your oil pump is having problems. These are generally fully mechanical though, and are unlikely to cause issue. Another is a blockage in the oil system. but if you change your filters regularly, this shouldn't be an issue either. It could be your oil pressure sensor, refer to your manual as to where this is located. Check the wiring first, sometimes it can be as simple as a loose wire. Otherwise replacing the sensor might solve the issue. The next possibility is a little more complex. It's entirely possible you may have used the wrong oil viscosity in your engine. Using too thin an oil to what is specified will lower your oil pressure, but increase flow. Oil pressure is important though. Too little and the pump may not be pushing it through where it needs to go as well as it should. It's possible that such thin oil and low pressure may be causing the oil pressure sensor to show no pressure and illuminate the globe on the dash? Check your users manual to see what oil viscosity is recommended and if necessary change it to the correct oil. Hopefully this gives you a few ideas on how to solve your problem? Cheers. - Matt from Australia

Can't get plugs to fire

You have an electrical problem that will have to be traced back to the source. First, change one of the plugs and see if that solves it. If not, check your ignition coils. Make sure you have current going to the coils. If not, check your fuses and finally your ignition switch. Some small displacement motorcycles have magnetos to generate the power for the spark plugs and that may have become faulty.

Cut it off ... get a replacement that has a master link. You could invest in a chain breaker.

GV250: Removing the Battery:

Since I've done it a couple of times recently, I thought I would put together this quick HowTo.

Remove the seat. You don't necessarily have to but I find it makes it easier.

Using a #3 Phillips head screw driver, loosen the screw holding the chrome piece below the plastic panel in place.

Note: Do not remove the screw, just loosen.

Pull the plastic side panel towards you until the tab comes loose from the slot. There will be resistance because of the tab slot that holds it in place.

Note: do not pull to far towards you as you may damage the tongue below (see Appendix A for visual reference)

Using a 10MM socket wrench or a #3 Phillips head screwdriver (I recommend the 10MM socket wrench) remove the two bolts holding the bracket battery.

Gently pull the battery out and, using a 10MM socket wrench or a #3 Phillips head screwdriver (I recommend the 10MM socket wrench), remove the two terminal bolts.

Note: For the positive terminal, you will need to pull the rubber boot back. It should slide back along the cable.

Tuck the loose terminal cables back in the now empty battery slot and replace the plastic side panel and seat.

Thats it, your done.

Appendix A:
There is a tongue on the plastic side panel that slides into a slot in the chrome below it. Do not put the tongue behind the slot, it must go inside the slot

My neutral light does not work. i check the bulb

A visible check on the bulb, may look ok, but still could be faulty, either replace it, or swap it wit another one to make sure. If that is ok, then the next place to look would be at your connections, and at the Neutral Switch, sometimes located on the outside of the engine, behind the drive sprocket cover? Sometimes the switch is inside the engine, making it difficult to fix.

Got a hyosung gv250 that wont run..just cleaned

Not sure if this is still an issue as it's an old post but have you tried checking for a spark?

-Take your spark plug out,
-attach the ht lead to it,
-Hold it with a pair of INSULATED pliers so that the metal tip of the spark plug is earthing by touching it to some bare metal e.g. the cylinder head,
-Crank the engine and look for a spark. (Be careful about earthing it near the hole in the head where the spark plug fits as there may be petrol vapour present which may ignite).
Do this for both cylinders

Neutral light will not come on checked bulb it was

I dont think the side stand switch operates your neutral switch, or has anything to do with it, that is mearly a safety switch so you cant ride off with your stand down.
The neutral switch could be located externally on the gearbox area somewhere, but, i am quiet sure the switch is inside the gearbox somewhere, so some dismantling will have to happen.

Need battery cross refrence

Most motorcycle batteries are pretty standard size. I wouldn't waste my time with the dealer. Take your battery out and go to your local walmart or auto parts store and match one up. You will be able to find the correct physical size and I am sure you will have a selection of amperage capacities to choose from. It doesn't take much to spin a 250 over, but go with a middle of the road amperage and you should be fine, go with the highest if your worried.

Alpha gv250 2004 battery will not stay charged

Unless you are able to read a multi-meter correctly, you cant. I suggest you take it to an Auto-electrician, he will check it with a multi-meter, generally free of charge and tell you what problem you have.
