Either the clock or the fuel sender is faulty. Does the fuel gauge work correctly? If it does then the clock is most likely faulty. Still, I never got this fault so get someone with diagnostics to check. The R value is computed from the fuel sender signal which also feeds the fuel gauge. Are you sure it is miles and not kilometers it is showing?
