2007 Harley Davidson FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide will not turn over @

Hi, Anonymous before testing any electrical component in the Starting Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries. The following is a list of usual suspects that will cause your bike not to turn over.1. Ignition Switch is in the "OFF" position.2. Ignition Switch is faulty.3. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.4. Engine Run Switch is "FAULTY" or corroded.5. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.6. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.7. FOB battery low or dead.8. Faulty ignition switch.9. Faulty starter button.10. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch. 11. Security alarm needs a reset.12. Starter relay, solenoid, starter motor or circuit wiring faulty.13. Starter armature or field coils have failed.14. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.15. Faulty ignition relay.16. The electric starter is working but the starter clutch has failed.17. Check for engine trouble codes. For more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need for viewing or printing please click on the blue links below. 2007 Harley Davidson FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide fuel injectors loose fire after revving engine @

Hi, Anonymous fuel injectors fail either electronically due to faulty connection/internal electronic failure or mechanical malfunction pintle stuck due to dirt, grime, and or ethanol sludge. Since some injectors can run $100 or more so it's best to try and resolve the electrical or mechanical issue if possible. The first thing you need to do is check the fuses or the fuel injection system relay, for continuity then the injector connection with a test light by turning the ignition switch off and on if there is no continuity backtrack to the ignition switch until you find the bad connection, if ok remove the injector and check it with test leads off your battery for function by touching then removing one of the leads if the injector is functioning properly you will hear and feel the click. If there is no click the pintle could be stuck in the open position due to contamination. If you are on a budget I "HIGHLY" recommend the services of "InjectorRx" above any DIY method, they can repair your injector to optimum performance for only $18 and if it is not repairable there is no charge. There are DIY methods on youtube but there is no guarantee they will work or last any amount of time. Here is what Injector Rx can do for you: 1. The injectors are checked for resistance. If they fail the ohm test they will notify you that your injectors have failed and should be replaced. 2. The injectors are then checked for external cracks and or damage. 3. The injector is now externally cleaned and prepared for the flow test bench. 4. The Fuel injectors are flow tested and the results are recorded. 5. O-rings and filter baskets are removed if possible. 6. The fuel injectors are now placed in an ultrasonic cleaning bath where they are pulsed open and closed for 30 - 40 minutes. 7. The injectors are removed from the ultrasonic cleaning bath and then backflushed to remove any additional grime or dirt. 8. New O-rings and filter baskets are installed (if and when available). 9. The fuel injectors are now tested for spray pattern and atomization. 10. The injectors are once again flow tested, The results are recorded and compared to see if the injector flows properly. 11. If the injectors fail a second cleaning session will be attempted. 12. Once cleanings are finalized the fuel injectors are lubricated and placed in a sealed bag. 13. A flowsheet is prepared and shipped with the injector. Since they do not sell fuel injectors you can be assured that they will do everything possible to get your motorcycles fuel injector to perform as it should. If they don't succeed they will not charge you for their time. If you prefer the DIY method then I recommend the test wires to open the injector and spray carburetor cleaner with the straw nozzle inserted in the pressurized end, give it a good bath with 3-4 healthy squirts, then blow dry with compressed air, repeat this procedure as necessary depending on the severity of contamination. For future protection, I would recommend pouring in a bottle of Sea Foam Fuel System Cleaner in your fuel tank before your next fill-up and every 2,500 miles thereafter. 2007 Harley Davidson FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide fuel pump diagnosis @

Hi, Anonymous the following is a systematic procedure for diagnosing fuel pump issues designed to keep "DRACHMA" to a minimum: 1. Normal fuel pump pressure is 55-62 PSI. 2. Check the white plastic convoluted tubing for age-related pinholes by removing and plugging the end that connects to the quick disconnect check valve and then turn on the ignition switch and look for fuel streams exiting the pinholes, if any exist, replace tubing as necessary. $38 from Harley $20 from eBay. 3. Check for a clogged primary fuel filter that comes off the bottom of the pump to screen out big rocks and clean as necessary. 4. Check for a clogged secondary fuel filter by removing it from the system and replace it with a short splicing tube turn on the ignition switch and recheck fuel pressure if pressure increases to the normal pressure you need a new filter $ 166 from Harley $40 from Drag Specialties on eBay. 5. If all the above check out OK then you need a new fuel pump $ 324 from Harley $ 60 from Amazon and eBay. Upon starting my 2007 Dyna wide glide, an engine warning light came up on the speedometer ( yellow light ) also the speedometer did not work until the light went out. Can anyone help? @

Hi, Peter, it should be noted that the reasons your check engine light or CEL stays on constantly or flashes and your bike will or will not start and may turnover or not, these conditions will vary from bike to bike depending on the year, make, and model and you should always refer to your owners/service manual for proper diagnostic procedures. It should also be noted that any type of prior work done to the bike or an abnormal event occurrence IE: adding accessories, electrical curiosity or adventures, laying the bike down or crashes, rainstorms or bike washings just before CEL light issues started can be significant hints or aids into tracking down the gremlin, also for 2003 and older models carry the appropriate jumper wire to access fault codes and reduce the risk of being stranded or towed also keep in mind that your CEL comes to life if anything, and I do mean anything isn't 100% with the ECM like parameter spikes. This means that you could be staring at a major repair, or your speedometer sensor is contaminated and needs to be cleaned. And the usual suspects are: 1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, check the terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary, you should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries. 2. Faulty charging system. 3. Faulty system sensor some models have up to 40 sensors 4. Faulty safety switches: run/off, ignition, clutch lever, neutral, side stand, tip over, fuel, and or their connections. 5. The engine got wet where it didn't like to get wet. 6. Faulty ignition circuit spark plugs, coils, cables, etc. 7. Broken wire or worn insulation exposing wire to a ground situation especially inside wire harness at tight bends around fairing brackets, under dash panels, under fuel tanks over cylinder heads etc. Many harnesses are open on the ends that will allow water to enter and accumulate at v-bends. Dielectric grease and contact cleaner are your best friends for wire/cable/harness connectors, look for corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets. Run speedometer diagnostics and check for generated fault codes. 2007 wide glyde back firring out exhaust f.i, new batt new voltage reg new fuel pump and reg also repaired wires to map sensor

Most likely a leaking gasket on the header pipe where it is bolted to the cylinder head, some after market exhausts use a more compact seal. In my experience you are better off with the original type conical seals as they allow for some misalignment that many exhausts have anyway.
