Rebuilding the solenoid. Is it
The only thing you can do to the solenoid on the newer bikes (1989 and later) is to replace the large copper contacts inside the solenoid. Usually you can do this without taking the starter off on most models. Disconnect the negative battery cable and take the three small 3mm bolts out of the back of the starter. Remove the plate. Behind the plate is a plunger and a spring. Take these out. Look into the starter solenoid and you can see the two large copper contacts. You'll have to take the nuts of the battery cables on the start that come from the battery and to the start motor. They are 14mm nuts (Japanese made starter). If you can get to those without taking the exhaust off, it's easy to replace the contacts. If you can't get to it because of the exhaust system or something else, it could be a pretty good job.

My harley wont tick over or ticks over at around
The engine idle speed is set too low. If the engine is equipped with a carburetor, the idle speed stop screw is located at the top right of the carb. If it's fuel injected, the idle speed is set electronically and you need to take it to a shop to get it set a bit higher. It should be idling at 1000 RPM or so.
Good Luck,

Right speaker went out.. Opened fairing and tested
If the RH speaker works when you conected to the LH side, I would suggest a wiring problem to the RH side... You may have to ferret out where the wires go to find a bad or broken connection. It may sound stupid, but make sure you havent got the "balance" control on the stereo set to left only.. Make sure its in the middle so both speakers are supposed to be working... Hope you find out what it is... Cheers
Left on and killed battery.
5 years out of a hogley battery?? thats amazing. Mine usually dies after 2 years if its a Yuasa but ive got 4 out of a genuine HD. Have a close look at the fusible links and the earthing of the starter motor. The slightest touch on the frame of the active wire will blow something.... Also, corroded or poor connection to the starter will stop it from working. If everything was fine until you "killed " the battery, it must have been something that happened whilst you were changing it over. I know it may sound stupid but make sure you have + to + and - to - on the battery terminals... If you are not sure, the - or negative wire is bolted / screwed to the frame... Make sure this wire is connected to the - or negative terminal on the battery. Cheers,
Hi, I have a Bosch
The beeping is a signal that the fridge has not got down to, or holding temperature... You may have a thermostat or gas system fault. Check and see that the fridge has actually got cold.
My 2007 FLHX drives good
My Harley did the same thing but would "fart" and cough and run like it was starving for fuel. The Guy who fixed it found that the rear spark plug had fouled due to the choke staying on. Have a look at the condition of the rear plug, if its covered in black muck, it could be your problem as well... m Hope this helps.
My starter is sticking. it continues to attempt
Find and pull the starter relay then try it again. If the starter still engages, it's something in your starter in the solenoid part. If this stops the problem, you've either got a bad starter relay or a wiring problem in the start switch. Have you made any changes in the wiring recently?
Good Luck

My 06 street glide doesn't seem to be charging
Voltage regulator is going/gone bad would be my first guess. Other possibilities include loose or corroded connection(s), sulfated battery, or failing stator (not likely).
Since electronic parts usually can't be returned, it might be worth it just to have a shop check it and give you an estimate. Even if you have to pay a diagnostic fee, if it's something as simple as a regulator, you can do the repair yourself and save some bucks.
I have a 2003 DynaGlyde,
Man, that's the best description I've ever seen of a problem with a bike on this site. Regrettably, I don't have a clue as to what the problem is but I can tell you that I've read about the turn signal staying on in many instances. I'm an old school biker and mechanic and I don't have any experience with the computer controlled bikes or security systems. To me, it sounds like the security system has got the bike disabled for some reason. This seems to be the case mostly when the battery goes dead and then the owner recharges the battery or installs a new battery. The security disables the ignition system thinking someone is trying to steal the bike and it communicates with the owner or mechanic through the turn signal system. Have you read the owner's manual about the security system? The turn signal staying on constantly may be trying to tell you what the problem is. I really wish I could help more but that's all I've got.
Good Luck

How do you replace the front brake pads on a 2007
Simply loosen the two Torx head screws that hold the caliper on the fork leg, then loosen the small Torx screw and remove it from the caliper, the old pads will drop down. Now you have to compress the two piston or one, back in.Just pay attention when you put back the new pads it must fit into the slot, then the small Torx pin.....Now you just have to put back the two bigTorx screw to reattach the caliper back the fork leg... Another thing IMPORTANT for your safety press the brake lever many time to allow the pads to contact the disc brake....Don't forget this . Voila ...Hope this will help you up.
Idle mode 2010 Harley Davidson FLHX Street Glide
Hi Tamara,
possible cause is the connector on the side of the throttle body. This connector will be facing towards the rear of the motorcycle just behind the air filter box. Disconnect it and spray a good quality switch cleaner with lubricant into the connector or use the HD contact grease and put a small amount into each contact hole. Then insert and remove the connector a couple of times before finally leaving it in position. I have got this fault a few times and this proved to be a cure.
