Vstar 650 2005 tire pressure

The pressure on the sidewall is the max for that tire. Not the "correct" for model and weight of bike - and that value is usually significantly lower.

I replaced the fuel pump on a 2001 v star 650 ,do

You shouldn't need to do that. It's an electric pump and it should prime the carb as soon as you turn the ignition on

Bike has been sitting

If old gas sat in the carb.s for more than a month it starts to dry up. As it drys up it leaves behind a varnish like film that stops up some very small ports and pin holes inside a motorcycle carburetor. It is also very hard to get out. You can try this before you pull the carb.s for a full cleaning.Use a product called Seafoam, get as much gas out of the carb.s as you can. use a turkey baster and force the seafoam into your carb.s fuel line that you take loose from the fuel tank. Let that set for say 1 or 2 days. then hook up the fueltank with a mix of good gas and seafoam, (not a lot but enough to start it up. Move the cycle outside as the seafoam will make a lot of smoke if it does start up. If that does not clear up the problem you may have to pull the carb(s) and remove the blows to clean the inside. If you have to do that do not DO NOT MESS with any adjustment screws, DO NOT MESS with any adjustment screws. Just take the carb. bowl(s) off keep each one separate and number them so they do not get mixed up. do not mix up any internal parts. It is best to work on one at the time so nothing goes wrong. Work on a large sheet so if you drop a small part you can find it, you do not want to be missing some tiny spring or screw. Now, the fuel dumping out right now means one of the carbs needle and float is stuck open. You can try and tap on the carb bowl or bottom with a hammer handle to un-stick the float. Hope this Helps Fix Ya Up..

When i try to start

It is probably a carburetor over flow tube. If the float has saturated with fuel and sunk or if the float needle is stuck causing the bowl to over flow gas, the fuel is supposed to come out the tube rather than fill your engine with gasoline (ruining your oil). A fuel system cleaner like Chevron Techron might clean the inside of the carburetor with out disassembly. If you tap on the bowl of the carburetor with the handle of a screwdriver you may be able to unstick the float needle but you will still need to degum the the deposits in the carb. If the cleaning does not work it is possible that the float needle is damaged and needs replacement. Try the system cleaner first, If that does not work , disassemble, clean, and inspect.

2000 650 v star.

So check the compression. The valves could be set wrong or are not sealing well. You didn't mention any smoking so the piston rings should be okay. The most likely cause of the problem is a pin hole in the carb diaphragm or a carb needing to be cleaned. Go ahead and drain the float bowl then remove it. Now clean the carb with spray carb cleaner. With a bit of luck the cleaning alone will fix the problem. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

I have a 2002 Yamaha SR125 and my original Speedometer has packed in. Everything works apart from the mileage. Does anyone know how to wind the Clock back?

This is a highly ill - eagle act to do. In the old days we would put an electric drill on the drive cable, but now they make them tamper proof so they only go one way. The bezels are crimped on so you can't get inside them. I expect modern one may be electronic. How will your insurance company know what mileage you have done? I have never known an insurance cancel or fine due to mileage. You should have just disconnected it when you got close to the limit. Buy a used one and use them for 6 months in turns. There are two or three here 23K and one with 36k https://www.google.com/search?q=2002+yamaha+sr125+speedometer ..

Yamaha XT125X - I have just changed the fuel valve and put petrol in the tank. Now the engine won't start and the fuel light is on all of the time? Any ideas anyone please?

Make sure the fuel is getting to the valve and passing through it. Possible blockage in fuel line or in the tank.

First make sure that the new battery has been fully charged and is not defective. Next make sure that the proper voltage is reaching the started. You may have a bad post connection or loose connection at the starter. Try jumping you battery with another known good battery.
