I have a 2003 honda shadow spirit vt1100c and it
These bikes are notorious for doing this. You must have a good battery to start these engines. I had a '94 VT1100 Shadow and it did the same thing. I bought a new battery and that solved the problem. Take you battery out and take it to an automotive parts house. They'll usually test the battery for you free of charge. Back when I had my Shadow, the only people that made the battery was Yuasa and it was that Yumacron battery. Expensive but it made the bike start well. Good Luck!
On my 1994 fireblade which way should the fuel tap
Start with the fuel tap (called a petcock) in the horizontal position. This is pointing toward the back of the bike, and it is in the "off" position. Turning it counter-clockwise to point up is "on," and turning it clockwise to down is "reserve."
Normally, you'll want to run the bike with the petcock set to on, and save the reserve for the emergency situation when you run out of fuel.
Hi, I am having problems
Fluid flows back into the brake fluid reservoir through a pin hole. There is a large opening that feeds the master cylinder. If the fluid return pin hole becomes plugged the pressure builds up in the system till the brake locks up the wheel. My experience is with standard braking systems not ABS but I assume there is still a fluid return hole that is smaller than the feeder hole. I suggest you take apart the master cylinder and carefully clean it making sure small passageways are clear. Normally minor binding is just a dirty brake cylinder that is not floating correctly. On the road a pressure wash of the caliper and pistons will keep you rolling till you disassemble and properly clean the floating components. With an ABS system there may be a second pressure release system that is keeping the system from locking up. Pressure wash the system. If that does not work, Disassemble and clean the components ( master cylinder assembly and caliper floating components). If that does not work you may have to have a dealer diagnose a possible problem with the ABS system
Type and amount of oil for front fork
To change your oil you will need 4 quarts of oil, a filter, and a new aluminum drain plug washer. You can reuse the old one if it has not been squished out of shape. Your motorcycle comes from Honda usually with 10w-40 mineral base motorcycle oil.
Headlights not working honda CBF600
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Check the starter switch. There is a hidden switch inside the starter switch. When the starter switch is pressed, this hidden switch disengages the headlight. This is to ensure that the starter gets maximum power when starting and not partially robbed by the headlight. Depending on the version, this switch would be connected to the black/red & blue/white wires.
A way to confirm is to partially jumper these 2 wires.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
My 97 honda 250 4 wheeler not firing replaced cdi coil spark plug
250 tells my cc, only, the ATV has real name what is it.
TRX250????
blown fuse
bad wires or connectors
kill switch bad
ignition switch bad
working with no manual or schematic is painful even me.
I use a voltmeter and trace the power to all that end to end.
has a crank or cam sensor?
i see no free manuals not banned for ***** or virus packed.
sorry free to find
why not just buy the manual and pay $10
and the first hour labor saved pays for the manual 10 times over
and call and investment grade book, keeps paying dividends.

Have a 1984 Honda GL1200 Aspencade Gold Wing that Hammers pretty hard when I start it. What will fix this please?
Question edited for full 'year make model'.
Question moved the correct category.
It really depends where it is coming from. This is a 1200cc, 4 cylinder car engine in a bike frame. If it is coming from the bottom it is bad news as that is where the crankshaft bearings and connecting rods are. If it disappears when it warms up, all well and good, but not perfect and it will only get worse.. It is more likely coming from the top of the engine because that area pretty much fully drains of oil after turning off, and it is the last to get oil when you start up. Make sure your oil is clean and use full synthetic oil if possible. I would also add some STP Oil Treatment or MolySlip. This is made to lubricate better and stick to surfaces. You can fashion a stethoscope to pinpoint the sound by sticking a piece of 1/4" polythene pipe in you ear and listen to top and bottom end.
