Possible causes for a runaway starter motor?
Hi,
The only thing that comes to mind for me is that there is a compatibility mismatch between your alternator and the rest of the car. If the alternator is "overcharging", then that means that is restoring your battery with too much power and the battery compensates by giving off power even when it's not supposed to. Thank you.

I have a 2006 Honda CBR1000RR
There are three main reasons why a motorcycle clicks when you try to start it. The first and most common reason is because of a dead battery. The second reason could be due to a bad starter. The third most common but less likely reason the motorcycle is clicking could be due to a seized engine.

Bike wont start after pulling dipstick out while running what can i do ?
Just had this happen to my 2007 Shadow Aero 750. Just started it to stir up the oil, so I just had the dipstick sitting in the hole. It hopped around and got grabbed. Took off the cover, and there was no visible damage anywhere other than the dipstick. I had to adjust the electrical sensor that was in there. I guess it bent it up enough to not read anymore. I bent it back closer to the toothed wheel, and tried to start the motor, fired right up. Shut her down, reassembled. Hope this helps anyone out there that was brought to this post desperately looking for answers.
85 Honda 250R Bore Size Question?
Bore / stroke
66 x 72mm
72 mm stroke, so the difference in bore diameter is 1.5 mm. 72 x 1.5 = 108 cubic Millimetres. Divide by 10 to make it cubic centimetres and the answer is 10.8. Your new engine will be 256.8 cc.

Hi I saw the advice
backfire can come out carb or exhaust--could be runnin to rich-is the float level set rite-jets may be wrong too--1st chec spark plug quality-wires-coil etc for correct fire--but since it kiks in then probly the high speed jet is fine
Removing baffles in my1300 vtx c honda ?
it is not hard to do but it would be best to get the drag pipes. there are a host of problems to think of though. you will need to rejet the carbs to accomodate the free up in back pressure. you will need the tourque slipins for the pipes. they will fit right into the pipes where they connect at the heads. the 1300 is going to be super loud without the baffels. like getting stopped by the law loud. it would be best to get a tuned drag setup from a dealer as to get the sound you are looking for as well as keep it below jonnie laws radar.
I have a 2003 honda shadow spirit vt1100c and it
These bikes are notorious for doing this. You must have a good battery to start these engines. I had a '94 VT1100 Shadow and it did the same thing. I bought a new battery and that solved the problem. Take you battery out and take it to an automotive parts house. They'll usually test the battery for you free of charge. Back when I had my Shadow, the only people that made the battery was Yuasa and it was that Yumacron battery. Expensive but it made the bike start well. Good Luck!
On my 1994 fireblade which way should the fuel tap
Start with the fuel tap (called a petcock) in the horizontal position. This is pointing toward the back of the bike, and it is in the "off" position. Turning it counter-clockwise to point up is "on," and turning it clockwise to down is "reserve."
Normally, you'll want to run the bike with the petcock set to on, and save the reserve for the emergency situation when you run out of fuel.
Hi, I am having problems
Fluid flows back into the brake fluid reservoir through a pin hole. There is a large opening that feeds the master cylinder. If the fluid return pin hole becomes plugged the pressure builds up in the system till the brake locks up the wheel. My experience is with standard braking systems not ABS but I assume there is still a fluid return hole that is smaller than the feeder hole. I suggest you take apart the master cylinder and carefully clean it making sure small passageways are clear. Normally minor binding is just a dirty brake cylinder that is not floating correctly. On the road a pressure wash of the caliper and pistons will keep you rolling till you disassemble and properly clean the floating components. With an ABS system there may be a second pressure release system that is keeping the system from locking up. Pressure wash the system. If that does not work, Disassemble and clean the components ( master cylinder assembly and caliper floating components). If that does not work you may have to have a dealer diagnose a possible problem with the ABS system
