1999 Volkswagen Cabrio convertible. Driver window doesn't go all the way down or up on vehicle

well it's broken and needs SERVICE are you asking how to test and find exact cause or asking wild guesses/? why o why? first are the guides inside not broken and jamming and the motor drive there on most car for sure newer have kid proof motor clutch that fails and slips too soon or the the motor is weak,or bad wiring to the motor. what I do is remove motor and operate window by hand if ok ,make sure motor gets full 12vdc power using a voltmeter, if that is good then motor is bad.(clutch and all in one) next you ask how ? to get to those parts?, answer pull the door cards. they pop off, google how. or youtube it.

High HYDROCARBONS on emissions test. I

hi.
first thing to do is change the air filter. even if it appears clean, the airflow can be blocked enough to affect the petrol air ratios in the engine which will give high HC readings.
changing the spark plugs can give a cleaner spark, and better ignition, with lower HCs. high HCs could also be caused by traces of oil getting through worn piston rings and valve stem seals and burning in the combustion chamber. there are many oil additives that can help stop this and reduce HC levels as well.
hope these suggestions help

2000 VW Cabrio 5 speed manual. I had an emergency stop and used engine braking. Now I only have 1st and 2nd gear. I lost 3rd, 4th, 5th and reverse. How do I fix or check linkage?

Question edited for clarity. Funky one space then punctuation :>D Question moved to sub category. Check out the videos on servicing the gear linkage. It contains plastic connectors. Personally, I would give a local transmission specialist the job. https://www.google.com/search?q=2000+vw+cabrio+5+speed+manual+gear+selector+linkage Good diagram here http://cabby-info.com/Files/ShifterLinkageGuide_5speed.pdf ..

Symptoms of a malfunctioning engine immobilizer on 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio

Try replacing the battery in the key fob as sometime simple fixes can sort out more complicated problems. The symptoms are usually quite simple. Firstly, you will have trouble locking and unlocking your vehicle. You might also have problems with the alarm system not turning on or off. Next you will have problems getting the vehicle to actually turn the starter motor. Often this will have error messages or warning lights on the dashboard. Some vehicle models might even lock the ignition barrel so you cannot turn the key at all.

I have a 99 Cabrio that has had the front struts,

Firstly one man's clunking noise is another man's rattling or banging - people describe noises very differently. It is almost impossible for you to tell anyone about the noise unless you are using the same terminology... The only way is to allow someone experienced to take a drive and then go underneath to shake a few things. It might be faulty instal but most likely something that wasn't changed and probably didn't need changing at that low mileage. Stabiliser tie rods most likely, maybe track rod ends, bottom ball joints...

My 1997 volkswagon cabrio wont start. when u turn

The first problem sounds like it is the solenoid on your starter motor not working. Starter motors have two movements one rotates the motor and the second one is solenoid that pushes the starter gear against the flywheel, when you turn the key both of this movements happen almost instantaneous, once you release the key the spring loaded solenoid returns to its original position disengaging the starter from the flywheel and the starter motor stops turning. In your case from what you are describing it looks like the solenoid is not working. Now for the rough engine that looks to be a whole separate issue .....
