My toyota hilux 2TR-FE engine has a low idle @ .50 ?rpm which often stops the engine. How to solve this problem?

In your picture, on the air intake pipe (just above the air filter box), there is a hole.. there should be a MAF sensor in that hole connected to a plug, which tells the ECU how much air the engine is getting, which in turn dictates how much fuel is delivered to the engine! Install a MAF sensor and plug it in! Good luck

Question edited for clarity and spelling. Question moved to model category. Please don't type in all CAPS, it is considered SHOUTING and is harder to read. A 'squeal' or a 'squeak'? Squeals are normally serpentine belt related, but suspension squeaks are a known issue. https://www.google.com/search?q=Toyota+HILUX+2KD+WHEN+DRIVING+ON+POTHOLES+OR+CORNERS+HAVE+SQUEak+NOISE+FROM+the+FRONT+SUSPENSION ..

1994 Toyota Hilux Surf, 3.0 with 1kz-te engine. My check engine light comes on and off when driving my 1994 surf hilux 3l, 1kz-te. What's the cause please.

Question edited for clarity and spelling, 'hillux' to 'Hilux'.. Question moved to model category. The Engine Check Light only comes on to tell you there is an issue. Then you connect a Code Reader to the OBD Port and look at the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). The Code is a number and tells you the issue, and from there you can Google the Fix. If the light comes on and goes off, the fault is transient. The ECM checks data multiple times a second, it can flag an issue and then clear it. The only way to find the code is to have a scanner connected as you drive, and read the Code when it appears. https://www.google.com/search?q=1994+toyota+1kz-te++diagnostic+codes ..

93 hilux won't start when cold will not kick over

Peter what does the starter motor do? this is first. cranks fast and engine does not start? or starter is dead. ,silent, or clicks or chatters only or? keep in mind we can not hear your starter, at all and matters first. if the starter fails. at any time, shift to Neutral, is this A/t box or M/t stick shift box tranny? on A/t box the PRNDL switch must allow cranking in Park and Neutral if a M/T box (manual) the clutch switch on the pedal must work or starter will be dead. or always cranks fast but will not start and run the engine.?

I have a Toyota Hilux 2KD but having a problem with the cluster on fuel gauge and temperature gauge?

If you are having a problem with the fuel gauge and temperature gauge on your Toyota Hilux 2KD, there could be several possible causes. Some potential reasons for this issue include:
  • A faulty or damaged cluster: The cluster is the instrument panel on your vehicle that houses the gauges and displays important information such as the fuel level and engine temperature. If the cluster is faulty or damaged, it may not be able to accurately display the readings from the gauges.
  • A faulty or damaged fuel level sensor: The fuel level sensor is responsible for measuring the amount of fuel in the tank and sending that information to the cluster. If the sensor is faulty or damaged, it may not be able to accurately measure the fuel level and the gauge may not display the correct reading.
  • A faulty or damaged temperature sensor: The temperature sensor is responsible for measuring the engine temperature and sending that information to the cluster. If the sensor is faulty or damaged, it may not be able to accurately measure the temperature and the gauge may not display the correct reading.
In order to diagnose and fix the problem, it is recommended to have the vehicle assessed by a qualified mechanic. They will be able to diagnose the specific cause of the issue and recommend the appropriate repair. It is important to address any issues with the gauges on your vehicle promptly, as they can affect the safety and performance of your vehicle.

2013 Toyota Hilux 1KZTE. The engine light comes on after 1 minute from starting and then only runs at 1200 rpm with full throttle and engine cuts off after 1 minute from engine light appearing?

Hi, Please check your alternator, engine and battery with a diagnostic test from your nearest autozone. Any of these could be leading to your car-shutdown issue. A bad alternator can even a brand new battery if it's attached to your car's system long enough. Thank you.

2011 Double Cab. When the ignition is on, the horn works. When I start the car, why does it stop working?

The horn circuit is relatively straight forward for a '11 vehicle... the horn switch via clock spring energizes the horn relay that powers the two horns.

Check grounds at the horn(s). If no problem found, check if the relay is being energized.

Does anyone know why my ignition fuse blows?

I suspect the fuel concern is a diagnostic dead end. This sounds like an electrical short. However, at the third key position, the glow plugs are also activated. Glow plugs use relatively high current flow to energize. On my older hilux, they are on a separate fuse under the hood. If they are shorting on the glow plug rail to a loose wire or any other grounded item, the fuse will blow. You will have to check if yours are on a separate fuse, as well. Regardless, I would first check your ignition circuit by obtaining a wiring diagram and tracing the wires from the ignition to the next element in the circuit. From there, to the ECU and from there to the starter solenoid.http://landrover.narod.ru/gershon/TOYOTA/HILUX/Toyota_Tiger_1KZ_2001.pdf

How do I remove the coin tray from my sr5toyota hilux

My '04 Toyota Hilux cup holder came out as follows... You need to start by removing the dash trim that surrounds the instrument panel and air vents, as per the following. Looking through the steering wheel to the instrument panel, remove the two screws above the instrument panel window. Then remove the two screws under the steering column. Then carefully prise back the section of lower trim to the right of the radio, you will see another screw, remove this. The instrument trim is now free to be wiggled free from its clips. You will need to disconnect the lead to the digital clock. You can now remove the whole dash trim which contains the housing for the cup holder and place it on a work bench. If you then look down onto the sliding tray (from above) you will see two squareish tabs. These tabs are the limiting tabs preventing the tray from sliding out (under normal use). What you need to do is slide the tray out wards and using a flat screwdriver lever these tabs downwards as you pull gently on the tray. You should do one side at a time, so push one tab down until the draw is free on that side then while holding the draw steady repeat for the next tab. Once the two tabs are squeezed free the tray will slide out. With practice I suppose you could just pull the tray straight out (without removing the dash trim) by interting two hacksaw blades curved slightly upwards throught the front of the (open) tray to squeeze the tabs as you pull the draw forward but you need a little luck and knowledge of where the tabs are... And besides, removing the dash trim is pretty simple. With these instruction it should take no more than 10-15 minutes start to finish. Good luck!! Mike
