2000 dodge grand caravan 3.8L. the a/c stopped cooling, the next day the serpentine belt broke so I replaced it. It wouldn't start so I had alternator tested, it was bad, replaced it, still wouldn't start so i had the starter tested, it was bad. I replaced it and it still wouldn't start. I replaced the battery. Still won't start. Up to the point of the a/c not blowing cool air, I have had no problems with it starting. Could all of these things go out at the same time?

I had to replace the brushes on my 2000 Caravan alternator so I had to remove the serpentine belt. I was able to remove the belt by prying the idler pulley inwards to take of the pressure and slip it off so I think you should be able to do the same thing.
The 3.3 L Caravan engine does not use a timing belt.. It is timing chain set up. What belt are you talking about that broke?? The serpentine belt that drives all the accessories??
have you checked relay and fuses? also wiring? and after you put the belt on did you watch and make sue the altenator is spinning? what it sounds like to me is you put the belt on wrong. also did the light come on after the belt change or be for???
If you are mechanically inclined and have the right tools, buy an owners manual where you buy the replacement belt and follow instructions. There is a belt tensioner that is a critical part of the process. If you don't have the skills or tools, get a couple of quotes and have it done at a reputable shop. Most likely should cost less than $125.
Misalignment of the belt, incorrect belt, worn or loose tensioner, Too tight of an adjustment (many service centers do this on purpose so when the belt breaks in it becomes properly adjusted, I do not believe in this philosophy), The belt is actually one long belt called a serpentine belt.....
