Bought a 2005, 2 door Honda Civic that has a radio but not sure what brand. the information I got off of it was: compact disc, digital audio, 13 band spectrum analyzer, 1XC6, 6 Disc CD Changer. Battery was changed and now doesn't work. Identification number on this car is 1HGEM21595L061161. please do you know or can figure out what the code is. Taken it to my mechanic, but since it isn't a standard Honda radio, he has no clue. Even though he feels this is the original radio Honda put in the car.

If this is an OEM Honda radio you can get the code for free at the Honda Owners Link. All you have to do is go there and sign up. Once you are signed up just log in and click the quick link, (Retrieve Radio Code). The page that comes up will require that you have the Vehicle VIN # and your address and phone #. It will also require you to have the radio Serial #. You will be able to get the serial # off the radio display by following the directions on the site.

Reset the Radio on your 2001-2005 Honda Civic

If the radio on your 2001-2005 Honda Civic (as well as some other Honda products) has lost power for any reason (i.e. dead battery, blown fuse, etc), you will need to enter the reset code.

The reset code for the factory installed radio is located in the glove box. Open the compartment; On the back of the door, usually near the left side, there should be a small white sticker. The sticker has one alph-numeric set and one set containing five numeric digits. The number set with five digits is the reset code for your factory installed radio.

Turn on the radio. When you see "CODE", use the corresponding station pre-set buttons to enter the code. If entered correctly, the radio should active immediately.

Your vehicle's audio system may disable itself if it is disconnected from electrical power for any reason.
To make it work again, you must enter a specific five-digit code with the preset buttons.
Because there are hundreds of number combinations possible from the five
digits, making the system work without knowing the exact code is nearly impossible.

You should have received a radio code card that lists your audio system's code and serial numbers. {glove box find}
It is best to store this card in a safe place at home. In addition, you should write the audio system's serial number in this owner's manual.

If you lose the card, you must obtain the code number from your dealer.
To do this, you will need the audio system's serial number.

If your vehicle's battery is disconnected or goes dead, or the radio
fuse is removed, the audio system will disable itself. If this happens,
you will see ''ENTER CODE'' in the frequency display (on the screen on models with navigation system) the next time you turn on the system.
Use the preset buttons to enter the five-digit code. The code is on the radio code card included in your owner's manual kit.
When it is entered correctly, the radio will start playing.

If you make a mistake entering the code, do not start over; complete the
five-digit sequence, then enter the correct code. You have 10 tries to enter the correct code.
If you are unsuccessful in 10 attempts, you
must then leave the system on for 1 hour before trying again.

The system will retain your AM and FM presets even if power is disconnected. {only on newer cars'

Code for radio/cd honda civic 2003

Try to locate the unique code number that will unlock the theft-protected audio system on your 2003 Honda Civic. It probably was imprinted on an anti-theft identification card that you should have received when you acquired the car. The code was printed on a document that came with your owner's manual packet

If you do not have the code, you will need to track down the audio system's serial number. In the case of the 2003 Honda Civic, finding the serial number may require seeking assistance from a Honda dealer. The dealer should be able to determine the audio system's special code number so you can reset the radio. With some newer Honda Civic models, the serial number can be retrieved electronically from the radio.

If you are able to locate the serial number of your 2003 Honda Civic's audio system without a dealer's assistance, you can obtain the special code by going online to the Honda Web site. You must first provide specific information to prove you own the car. For instance, you will need the Civic's vehicle identification number, or VIN, and the audio system's serial number.

When you know what the audio system's special code number is, use the preset buttons on the car radio to punch in the digits. This should reset the audio system, enabling you to resume using the radio and the CD player.
