What cause battry to die over night?

If test light is a 12 volt light tester AND ILLUMINATES BRIGHT it shows that a component is actively trying to complete a circuit and yes drawing power causing a drain on your battery, now if test light illuminates low, possibility could just be ecm memory or antitheft system active . either way this test should only be done with a 12 volt test light as if you use a 5 volt (computer friendly) tester , false light will have you chasing a ghost. trust me. that trick helps by checking for parasitic draws a 12 volt tester does not illuminate when keep alive memory voltages are present . those voltages are not enough to drain over night. good luck

Ok. Last night my car started making a knocking noise. Its not loud and only happens when im in idle. Also it seems to come from the bottom of the engine. Help?

if it gets louder and faster as the engine speed increases then a piston is knocking...if it is just at idle like you said then it could be a bad oil pump if oil light is on at idle or it could be the connecting rod knocking on the crankshaft because it is loose.

Oil light comes on any time your not on the gas

I will have to disagree with this FORUM page you are talking about and cannot validate how an oil filter will cause a "film"

sounds more like oil pressure issues

to diagnose you MUST actually check oil pressure

I have a 96 Yukon just last night the daytime lights went out both of them can you help me please..Barry

Im not sure I am following you. When it gets dark enough the "daytime" running lights should go off and the headlights and tail lights should come on for night time driving. The head light switch must be set in the "auto" position.
Regards.

Noisy lifters?

Did anyone leave any rags under the intake?
I had a client have this happen to him and it caused some real problems.Check the oil level to see that it's not low. If you have an oil pump problem, the light should have come on. Hope this helps a little.
