I have a 2000 chevy malibu that the fans do not turn on and the car overheats. The fans did not turn on so i changed the thermostate, fans, and cooling sensor. with all those changes the fans still do not turn on and the car still overheats. The fans and relays work because if i take out the plug from the cooling sensor the fans turn on. Today i drove the car without the plug attached to the cooling sensor to keep the fans on and for whatever reason the car was shifting gears hard. Im not sure if its because of the sensor or not but this car is a pain!!! Please help, i cant keep spending money on this car!!!

When everything starts doing random acts on their own the first thing you always check and ensure. That will be all points of grounding of the componants.

If you have done this already, then bleed the cooling system, this is all you lack, just get the air out of the system, two bleed ports, one on the thermostat housing, and one on the engine near the water pump, just bleed them out as the car warms up,the thermostat bleeder last,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

I have a 2004 chevy malibu which overheats due to the fans not coming on..i checked the actuall fans and they do come on..checked relays and coolant temp sitch and its good

if your fans come on with ac on,then your fans are OK ,coolant temp sensor, is bad, need to be changed,(that is how fan relay get it's ground,or it gets direct ground when you turn the AC on)
so if it comes on with AC on,your fans and relays are good
you can run the car with ac on till you fix the problem(it only hurts your gas millage)

My 98 chevy malibu is running a little hot. the heads are not cracked.changed the anti freeze.change the thermostate. what could be the problem

If your engine is running fine with no miss in it possibilities could be radiator fan or water pump if the radiator fan is working fine it could be the water pump. I have seen a water pump after removing it where the fins on the pump were completely worn out causing the overheating.Let me know how this turns out for you thanks.

2000 Oldsmobile Bravada. Engine is running hot, and I have intermittent heat. I've replaced the thermostate last week and now the problem is worse than before. Engine will get up to 260 check gauges light...

CHECK FOR LOW COOLANT.YOUR CLUTCH FAN COULD BE BAD IT CAUSING ENGINE TO OVERHEAT.WHEN ENGINE GET HOT THE SILICONE OIL IN FAN CLUTCH GET HOT CAUSE THERMOSTAT SPRING EXPAND CAUSE FAN CLUTCH TO LOCK IN TURN FAST WITH ENGINE TO COOL OFF ENGINE. IF FAN IS WOBBLY OR FREEWHEELING ITS BAD.

Change thermostate and make sure there is enough coolant (not water) in the system.
Check that the thermostate sensor is working properly.

2000 Chevy Malibu blower motor doesn't work on positions 1 & 2. Would appreciate details on how to fix or change it.

remove dash insulator from under glove box. then move bcm to one side, fan resistor is beside the fan blower motor. the resistor will keep fan speeds from working. remove wiring and screws from resistor then take it out.

I have a 2000 chevy malibu, battery light came on

check your serpentine belt it sounds like it may have stretched or broken. Without the belt working properly your car will overheat due to the waterpump not activating and neither will the power steering or alternator

2000 Chevy Malibu making knocking sound when AC is on

Is it noisy with only the blower fan on or does the A/C have to be on to get the noise.
Try using the heater only and see if the noise is present.
Let me know.
