MY 1984 MB has several rubber donut supports for the exhaust system that have cracked. i can certainly replace them, though the rubber does not last very long. how can i reinforce those junction points? i was thinking of hose clamps or malleable iron wire to secure. what thoughts do you have?

The rubber is the best deal and its cheap with the heat and weather it breaks down fast a hose clamp will keep it there even if it breaks though you could try it and see how it goes stick with the hose clamps

Replace exhaust system on a 1984 corvette

You might want to look at what Borla has to offer. All stainless, performance tuned and nice sound, but pricey. The good news is it will last darn near forvever.

Can a coventional exhaust donut be used in place of the oem seal ring between the manifold and exhaust flange. The flange is not flat and when ring is replaced, there is still a slight leak?

A traditional exhaust donut style will not seal on this type of exhaust you either need to clean manifold and exhaust flang better or replace piece that is warped

What repair is needed to stop exhaust manifold leak and what do i need to do the at home repair

It depends on the leak. First of all - see if you can see any cracks on the manifold - telltale signs would be a visible crack and black residue around it from exhaust. If you see that the manifold should be replaced. - welding would be a possible alternative. If there are no cracks - check all the nuts and studs to make sure they are tight. Make sure the exhaust pipe is tight and not leaking at the connection. If everything looks tight and secure - change the exhaust manifold gasket. All of that could be done at home depending on your comfort leel with the tools and time available.

Replace exhaust manifold on 2002 civic LX is it hard to do?

Yoou shouldn't have to remove the radiator for this fix. I would recommend using new gaskets and donuts due to the replacement manifold being used, it may be slightly warped from heat, would definately replace the gaskets and such. Hope this helps.

You can replace this hose alone but check all rubber fuel lines for cracks.

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee running very loud

I would assume that there is something wrong with your exhaust again. Most likely its the exhuast donut gaskit that goes to the cat converter.

1984 ford f150 running erratic.

Check and adjust your choke accordingly, also since you have given it a tune up you should adjust your timing if it needs adjustment. Also check for any vacuum leaks. As for the exhaust leak I would look along the exhaust manifold and then along the exhaust pipe under the cab, check where the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe connect as there should be a donut or flange in there and it could be deteriorating. Good luck and remember to rate all the solutions you get, thanx.
