SHIFTER LOCKED IN PLACE

  1. Remove the instrument panel cover below the steering column, then remove the steering column shrouds to gain access to the brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) solenoid. The solenoid is part of the interlock cable assembly.
  2. Disconnect the wire connector from the rear of the BTSI solenoid.
  3. Insert the ignition key and turn it to the ON position.
  4. With the brakes applied, try moving the shifter out of the PARK position.
    • If the lever now moves freely in and out of PARK, perform the Circuit Test below.
    • If the shift lever still does not move from the PARK position, remove the BTSI solenoid from the shift lever assembly. If the shift lever now moves freely in and out of the park position, the BTSI solenoid is faulty and the interlock cable must be replaced. If the shift lever still does not move from the park position, the problem is in the shift lever assembly or the ignition interlock cassette

Abs light is on.. Checked parking brake and fluid both ok. What could it be? This vehicle is a Ford E-250 6 cyl.

The ABS warning is for all 4 wheels while the anti-skid is in general describing the rear wheels. The ABS can detect loose brake pads and other defects, like low fluid and loss of hydraulic pressure.

Most of the warning systems count the revolutions of each wheel. Some rear axle systems use a part mounted inside the rear differential housing instead of on each rear wheel.

You said you checked the parking brake. It is note worthy to say that the linings of the emergency (parking) brake often peel off the metal and get ground up inside the drum. For ABS with wheel mounted sensors, the dust can block the counting of the wheel revolutions and throw a code. Dust is perhaps the reason for the other axle designs using a sensor mounted inside the differential.

The Master cylinder can generate an ABS warning. Not being there its hard to say what happened. You might want to bleed the brake lines. Finding air foam would give you an idea that a leak is in progress somewhere.

My 2005 Chrysler Sebring started and turned off three times now, it just has a blinking red light?

Anti-Lock Warning Light (ABS) - If Equipped This light monitors the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) described elsewhere in this manual. This light will come on when the ignition key is turned to the ON position and may stay on for as long as four seconds. If the ABS light remains on or comes on during driving, it indicates that the Anti-Lock portion of the brake system is not functioning and that service is required, however, the conventional brake system will continue to operate normally provided that the BRAKE warning light is not on. If the ABS light is on, the brake system should be serviced as soon as possible to restore the benefit of Anti-Lock Brakes. 24 7 Locksmith Orchard Park NY 716 710 7400 Locksmith Orchard Park NY

After starting transmission won't move out of park

It sounds like if this is a car with the brake interlock, meaning the car will not shift from park unless the brake is pressed, there is a malfunction there, some are electronic and it may not be getting power to it especially if there are other warning lights on the dash. It would help if you could give more details, like which lights are on. Most cars with a mechanical interlock will have a cable you can adjust either at the brake cable or at the shifter.

Audi a6 parking brake

HAve you checked the fuse for this function?
It may be the electronic motor that has tripped the fuse, or system failure

Parking Brake, ABS, Traction Control & Anti Skid lights on

One or more of the sensors in the wheels that are responsible for these functions is faulty. It is sending a signal that is mucking up the calculations that control the brakes and engine for traction control and anti skid. All of them need to be checked!

No.
It might be in the switch for the parking brake. Try to release it a little more with your hands. It's either in the parking brake system or the regular brake system. Anything ABS has it's own warning light. Have it checked by a tech; it's a safety item, ok?
