Engine light on. Code says injector something,. nechanic says not insignificant problem.... what should I do

If you have confidence with your mechanic and the car runs fine, drive it until you have a problem. The Check Engine light can be on for a very long time if nothing else is wrong. The only way to correctly turn off the engine light is to correct the fault then reset the light. If you just reset the light and fault still exist, the light will come right back on. To reset the light you disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes. The other option is to have the fault fixed if you feel it is necessary.

You need to find a mechanic that is smart enough to use a scan tool that is able to view the live data stream and find the source of the issue. The P0420 code can be frustrating as it is usually something insignificant that sets it. Could be a vacuum leak, and exhaust leak, a bad wire to one of the O2 sensors. It takes time with a scan tool to nail down the cause.

There can be lots of reason for vehicle loosing power , from as minor as malfunctioning of a small relay to malfunctioning of injector. The best and quickest way to check is by using a scanner or Special digital diagnostic tool. In case you don't have tools with you than you might need to consult a technician or a service guy.
In case you want me comment more specifically than you have to explain the whole process of power loss for eg. during acceleration , in which gear , at which speed. etc.

Well code 201 is for a problem with the injector circuit for cylinder one. It could be a faulty injector or something in the wiring back to the engine computer.

I have a fault 296 on my golf tdi 2008 can you please tell me a little about the fault please.
296 is not a valid code, I will assume it is a P0296, if that is not the case let me know.
Code P0296 is triggered when the Power Train Control Module (PCM) detects that the acceleration rate of the crankshaft for Cylinder #12 was less than a calibrated amount. Check engine light is on...have replaced plugs,plug wires,massive airflow sensor,air filter,fuel filter,pulled fuel pump...seems to be ok...can still feel slight hesitation while accelerating thru...
Some check engine lights need to be reset by the OBD-II code reader. It's also possible that you've solved 98% of your problem but there's still 1 problem left (possible clogged fuel injector?) that's pulling a different error code. (possibly P0301-P0312 misfire or P0262-P0295 injector)

Best bet is to go to 1 of the auto parts chain stores that provide free diagnostic tests. If it's just a lingering old error code it will be reset or if it's something new, you'll know exactly what the issue is.

My check engine light came on with 151,000 miles, would oil change make light come on could be a injector going bad?
Check engine light is an indicator that something is bad with your car and is recorded in your car's computer by mean of error code .

So we cannot pre assume what has caused the light to come on. We must perform a scan on the car and get to know the error code . Once the code is known then you can know the exact fault by means of the code and rectify the same. Most auto zone shop does the scanning for free.

No, you have other underlying issues that maybe insignificant. I would suggest that you take your car somewhere (Autozone; if there is one in your area) and have the light analyzed. Your are going to ask if you can have you car's check engine light read by a scanner.

This is likely caused by a engine missfire, this can be due to a failed engine coil,spark plug or fuel injector. Ford has extended warranty on some fuel injectors on the f-150 and expedition you will need to have your local dealer see if you vehicle applies to the recall. Since the check engine lamp is flashing then a code is also stored and will need to be retreived to determine which of the cylinders is missfiring.

the problem is due to your engine temperature sensor which is by fault sense the tempt high, which instruct the fuel injector to give lean fuel ratio to the engine and cause your engine hunting and shut off.on normal condition it sense tempt hi when u already hav enough rich fuel inside your engine thats why it try to reduce your fuel ratio.
