Check wire harness in passenger door pull plastic sleeve back repair wires and your window and door will work I had the same issue. My window didn't work and door didn't lock had about 6 broken wires cost 7 bucks for some wire easy fix.
The harness at the drivers door is a common problem on the Equinox, you maybe able to fix the wires but it may be less expensive just to replace the harness.
I had the same problem but on the passenger side door. The wire harness on the passenger side had broken wires. Purple wire was for the lock and thicker blue and darker grey was power for the windows. I used butt connectors to repair and it worked like a charm. Area was tight to work in between vehicle frame and door. Was easier to remove door panel and disconnect harness at vehicle frame and pull harness through door to complete the repair.
sounds like the lock actuator in the driver door has failed, probably have to replace the actuator, but first check the fuses for the locks, chevy has a habit of using a fuse for the drivers door that doesnt power the other doors. If the fuses are ok, then its probably the actuator
I have an 05 equinox had same problem with driver window, ended up finding broken wires in rubber boot between door and jamb, pieced out broken wires, problem solved....
It could be the power lock motor. You could have a short or bad wiring harness. Might just be a fuse that connects to both. But since you said it's only the driver side. When the power lock motor is bad it can trigger your alarm because they're wired together.
