Dashboard AC Vents don't work

I just got this car from my wife's grandfather. No air will blow from the dashboard vents, only the Defrost Vents. Also, it won't blow any cold air though the AC Compressor is on and the system is charged.

sorry just reread your problem since the system is charged check and make sure your clutch is engaging on compressor (most likely your problem) if not engaging then remove connector and check to see if circuit is energizing if no power start checking fuses if they are okay check continuity on wires.if the clutch is engaging and system is charged probably time to change compressor out. hope this helps

Defrost has been stronger on all types. Just the way plenums are made. Clear that wind shield first. As long as you have plenty of heat to keep the cabin area warm to hot, it's OK. I wouldn't woory about it.

AC is only blowing through the defrost vents in the dashboard?

I think your problem is the head unit that selects where the air comes out ie. Face, floor, defrost, or hi-level face and floor. If that's not working then it will not let you switch location that you want the air to come out.

Air stops blowing through the vents when accelerating

u have a loss of vacuum to the ac mode control switch, this switch applies vacuum to diff vacuum motors to move air to diff outlets, dash, floor, defrost etc. either the vacuum line or vacuum resivior at the engine is leaking or the mode control is leaking vacuum.

A/C blows from defrost and floor vents, nothing from dash vents.

the switch where you turn it to blowing at your head is probably out. you will need to replace the switch control where your defrost, foot, head etc. what make, model, year is your vehicle?

1997 jeep wrangler ac will not blow out of main vents, blow out at feet and defrost vents

Maybe your dashboard vents are clogged, obstructed or stuck in close position somehow.

If not, check the air hoses that carry the cooled air to the main vents are not clogged, bent, ripped or simply detached.
If its practical for you, check if they are correctly placed, clean and general conditions are ok if you can.

If above are not the issue, go to check outlets of the A/C unit, its filters for the possible reason.

AC cold air out of my defrost vents

u need to check the vacuum from the engine to the ac control head, the air defaults to the defrost when the system looses vacuum from the engine, this is for safety.
