Remove the upholster on the door panel. then, loosen the bolt of the window mechanism..and also the bolt of the track of the window, so you can put the window back on its track. then, you can stabilize it by looking for the right adjustment of the mechanism.

SOURCE: Power window not working

If the motor works I would just replace the assembly. If you can try to just replace the cable itself. You should be able to find it cheap at any junkyard around you. Quick question.. Do you still have a warranty on your car? If so check with dealer to see if it is covered.

SOURCE: I can't get the driver side window to go up. I

This is an easy fix. It's your switch. To test this you unplug your switch after you remove it from the door. Remember where the wires go. You will see a little white, grey, or black box the wires are connected to. The box looks solid but you can pop a top off and inside there is conact points. Look very carefully how they go when you open it. Those copper pieces get corroded and stop making contact.
get some steel wool and clean them up nice and shiney. Put them back in the little box and test it. Don't worry if you mess this up to much. They are a dime a dozen at the wrecking yards. Just find you make and model and you should not pay over 10.00 for the switch.
I try to be of help a long ways a way so please be kind with a thumbs up. Keep me informed. The Raz shack

Power lock and power windows dont work can`t find fuse

Number 21 is for the door lock fuse and relay, its a 10 amp fuse.
Number 7 is for the body control module, its a 10 amp fuse.

The fuse panel is under back seat.If all fuses checked out ok,then its faulty drivers door module called as DDM.

My 1995 Honda Accord power windows just stopped working. Drivers side is fine. It is the rear 2 windows and the front passenger side will not go up. Checked fuses they were all fine. any suggestions?...

It could be the motor of the power windows.

  • Troubleshoot
    • 1

Check the fuses and switches. Your owner's manual and fuse-box cover have fuse and switch diagrams. Look for the power window relay and power window motor labels. Tug out the fuse and check it for damage. Check the switches for deterioration or abnormalities. You can get a new fuse or switch at an auto parts store or super center and easily replace it.

    • 2

Get out your tool box if you've eliminated fuses and switches as the cause of the problem. Now you have to remove the door panel to get a better look at your window's power source. For the driver's side and passenger-side doors, remove the door pad and inner moisture barrier. Use an upholstery-removal tool to help pry the panel off. The rear windows require that you remove the two center channel screws at the top of the door frame and two lower bolts in the bottom of the door. Check under the weather stripping if those bolts aren't evident.

    • 3

Lower the window until the glass bolts are visible. Use the 10mm socket wrench to remove the bolts in the large and smaller access holes. Standing at an angle inside the door, tip the glass gently toward the outside of the door. Pull it out and set it in a secure place.

    Inspect the Motor and Regulator
    • 1

Access the regulator by removing the front channel and regulator mounting bolts. Older models have additional roller bolts.

    • 2

Use a digital voltage meter to test regulator power before completely removing it. A reading of less than 12 means you have a wiring or switch problem. Recheck the fuses and switches. A reading of 12 means your wiring and switches are getting power to the motor, so the motor is inoperative for another reason.

    • 3

Remove the motor and regulator. Wear protective gloves and keep your hands clear of the regulator gear spring. You can expect it to snap abruptly on removal.

Install New Power Window Motor and Regulator
    • 1

Use oil to grease the roller guides and sliding surfaces of the regulator after removing all the parts. Confirm that the breather pipe is in position to keep water out of your new motor.

    • 2

Advance the new regulator gear with your gloved hand. Use the collar and mounting bolt to secure the new motor in place. Replace the front door run channel.

    • 3

Slide the window glass back into the door. Advance the regulator with the power window control in the door until the glass mounting bolt holes line up with the access holes. Replace the window mounting bolts.

    • 4

Test for smooth operation of the window. The window should move up and down easily and form a tight seal when closed. Tighten or loosen window mounting bolts as needed.

    • 5

Replace the liner and door panel. Dispose of the dead motor.

I a looking for instructions on how to install a power window regulator into a 98 Acura CL

Door Glass and Regulator - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
    1. Remove the door panel.
    2. Remove the plastic cover from the door frame.
    3. Remove the power window switch from the door panel.
    4. Connect the power window switch to the door harness.
    5. Fully lower the glass.
    6. Pull the channel guide cover off.
    7. Remove the screws from the channel guide.
    8. Remove the center channel guide (if equipped).
    9. Carefully remove the glass until you can see the bolts and then carefully loosen all of them.
    10. Slide the window track guide to the rear.
Before removing the guide pin, scribe a line around it. This will enable you to install it in the exact position it was removed in.
    1. Remove the glass by gently lifting it from the guide.
    2. The glass can now be removed by pulling it through the window slot.
CAUTION Use extreme caution when handling window glass.
Check the guide pin for wear. Replace as necessary.
    1. Detach the connector and remove the regulator through the hole in the door.
Scribe a line around the rear roller guide bolt. This mark will show where the original adjustment was at before you removed the component.
    1. Remove the power window motor from the window regulator assembly.
    2. Remove any clips and pull the glass run channel out.
It may be necessary to remove the glass stopper.

WARNING Grease all of the sliding surfaces of the regulator or component failure may occur.
    To install:
    1. Install the window motor on the regulator assembly.
As a check, you can connect a known good 12 volt power source to the window motor to check the operation of the entire assembly. The regulator should operate with a steady, consistent motion in either direction.
    1. Install the glass run channel into the door as shown.
    2. Install the regulator.
    3. Install the glass.
    4. Install the center channel guide.
    5. Move the glass up and down to ensure free movement.
    6. Attach the door wiring harness to the door.
    7. Disconnect the window switch (on power controlled models) and install it into the door panel.
    8. The remainder of the installation process is the reverse of removal.

Electric Window Motor - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
    1. Remove the regulator from the door assembly. Refer to the procedure in this section.
    2. Except for the rear doors, drill a hole through the regulator sector gear and backplate. Install the bolt and nut to lock the sector gear in position. Be careful not to drill a hole closer than 7 / 16 in. (11mm) from the edge of the sector. Also, do not drill through the lift arm attaching portion of the sector gear, or the joint integrity will be jeopardized.
    3. Drill out the ends of the motor attaching rivets using a 1 / 4 in. (6mm) bit.
    4. Remove the motor and the remaining portions of the rivets from the regulator. Except for the rear doors, one rivet will not be accessible until assembly.
(see Figures 1 and 2 / click over pic for zoom)

    zjlimited_251.jpg

Fig. 1: Regulator and motor assembly-except rear doors

    zjlimited_252.jpg

Fig. 2: Secure the rivets by collapsing the rivet ends using a ball peen hammer

    To install:

    1. Position the new motor to the regulator. With the aid of an assistant, install new rivets by collapsing or crushing the rivet ends using a ball peen hammer.
    2. Except for the rear doors, once two of the three rivets have been installed, remove the bolt securing the sector gear to the backplate, then use an appropriate electrical source (such as the vehicle's window motor harness) to rotate the regulator, providing access to the remaining rivet.
    3. Except for the rear doors, use a flat nosed rotary file to grind off one sector gear tooth from the side which does not contact the driven gear. This is necessary to reach the remaining rivet. Remove the old rivet, then install the remaining new rivet.
    4. Install the regulator to the door assembly.
