Hi, there are several possibilities. There may be water leaking through the windshield seal and dripping down. You can try applying making tape around the edges of the windshield to see if it stops the leak. If a specific spot can be identified, some silicone RTV sealant can be squeezed in to reseal it. There may be a leak in the body seam at the bottom of the cowl (the well outside the car where the wipers sit under the bottom of the windshield. The cowl well is supposed to collect water draining from the windshield. The cowl is equipped with drain holes. There may be a seam where sheetmetal comes together in the cowl area that is not sealed good. You can try pouring water into the vents at the rear of the hood so the water goes into the cowl, and see if the water appears to enter the vehicle under the dash. Some disassembly is required to reseal the cowl sheetmetal seams.

It apparently happens only when the a/c is running, so I don't think that it's something like rain getting in from somewhere. I will take your advice and get back to you though. Thank you so much for your response.

Why does drivers side floor stay wet

You don't way what type of vehicle you are driving. I will assume it has a sun or moon roof. Most of these have drain lines that run down inside the driver's side door pillar and exit through the floor pan onto the ground. Over time, these drain hoses dry out and shrink, often retracting into the drivers side kick panel. Then, all the rain water that drains from the sunroof will leak out onto the drivers side floor. If that is the case, you will need to remove the drivers side kick panel and repair or replace the drain line and reroute it through the exit hole in the floor pan.

2011 Explorer water leak driver floor

The only water leaks I know that appear inside a vehicle is normally from a bad heater core, but that normally leaks onto the floor of the passenger side. I would check your heater core regarding this problem.

I drive a 94 mustang and all of a sudden it started leaking under the driver side dash into the floor board and leaking under the car on the passenger side onto the ground and ideas????

AC removes water while cooling at the same time. The drain is partially plugged in the drain pan that is under the evaporator coil. Now it overflows inside your car and onto the ground at the same time.

I have water leaking onto my passenger floor and my driver floor gets soaked after it rains.

you could try using a hose and spray that side of the car with water to try to find where it is coming in. if you had a window or windshield replaced you might want to talk to whoever replaced it.

In my 2000 chevy Impala has a water leaks under dashboard onto passenger floor, only when it rains?

I had the same problem with a 1994 Taurus. Within the front fender was 10 years of pine needles and leaves blocking the drain backing the water up in and over the fire wall and into the front passenger seat floor.
I took a LONG pair of needle nose pliers threw the passenger side door, and was able to remove enough debree. After pulling out out about 5 fist full's of yuck, 1 gallon a water that was stuck some where poured out flushing out the drain. I did the same on the drivers side. After that I had no problems with floods. I hope this helps. If not check your back door weather stripping if you have one. I have heard water leaking behind the passengers seatbelt and onto the floor from under the seat. Got to love Florida's rain season(s)

Ford Fiesta 2003 1.3 If I run the aircon water leaks onto the floor of the drivers side (by the pedals, alot of water.

In the dashboard, set down low is a driptray. It collects water that comes off the aircon. It has a hose (sometimes 2) that drains the water out of the car via the firewall so it drips onto the road. This is blocked or the tray has a buildup of gunk. The hose is about 1/2 inch thick. If you lay on the floor where it leaks with a torch you should find it.Or look in the engine bay, just to the left or right of centre(which side leaks?)and backtrace it into the car.You may find the inside hose has fallen off allowing the water to drip inside.Hope this helps you

Water coming in and pooling in the drivers side floorboard

Does it have a sunroof? if it does, check drain hose; poor a cup of water into the area around the drain holes & check for drainage under the car onto the ground. Has it recently had a glass replacement? Get another person to spray the outside of the car methodically from bottom to top slowly while you check for leaks inside the car. Or, turn air on w/all glasses closed, spray soapy water onto suspect areas, leaks will create more bubbles.

There is a water leak somewhere in my 98 toyota camry that leaks into my passenger side floor. There is no sun roof and no visible leaks from the windows or doors. Any thoughts? A/C leak maybe? water...

I am the original owner of camry xle 1998 with wet floors. In 2000 I had drivers side door seal leaking at welt. Removed old door seal and new weather strip on drivers side installed. The door panel was never wet, but wet at bottom of door where there are drain holes...slowly leaking under carpet.
In 2001 later water again. Coming from overflowing A/C evaporator-drain plugged/ tank full of debris. Removed evaporator, cleaned + drain cleaned.
In 2003, driver door seal against window rotted. Removed door panel and found leak at window belt molding at the mirror joint inside + out. Lots of mold under carpet needed to replace! Made a fuss at dealers for reacurring problem and they replaced the carpet for free.
