Serpitine belt fell off

This either had a bad tensioner or your belt broke. There are several pulleys and if they start wobbling, almost anything can happen. You should be able to manually grab and rotate each pulley to check for wobble and roughness.

The tensioner is a spring loaded bracket with a pulley.

Ac pulley wobble repair or replace

I doubt it can be repaired without replacing the clutch. It would depend on what the cause is. If the bearing is failing the clutch would have to be replaced.

Power Steering reservoir leaking and dripping on Serpentine Belt, possible cause of loose belt movement (has come off once already). Wobble of A/C Pulley, resulting in A/C not cooling.

Power steering pump shaft seal is leaking, You can add a table spoon of DOT 3 brake fluid to the steering fluid to condition the seal. The A/C pulley wobble is a compressor clutch bearing problem and requires the correct puller to replace. Replace the clutch as a unit, to avoid messing with the bearing. Replace the belt if the steering fluid leak stops. If the brake fluid trick does not work, replace the steering pump. Parts and labor will be better than 200.00

Loose water pump pulley???

4 cyl or V6 - - gas or diesel ?
You can go to one of the online auto parts websites and look up the water pump to see if it looks like your pulley. Or visit a local store.
If the water pump pulley is moving, the bearing may be failing which would require replacement.

Pulley broke off powersteering pump

Unfortunately, if you don't have a machine shop, you will have to replace the entire power steering pump instead of just the pulley.

But you should also check ALL the pulleys to make sure that something else was not damaged when your pulley came off. Check for any wobble in the shafts, especially the water pump. If you have any wobble then that component should be replaced also.

Good Luck!

The serpetine belt in my 1998 expedition broke. I replaced it with a new one, drove 2 miles and it broke again, snapped in two. Is this a common problem and give me some advice of what would be causing the...

Hi, there must be a problem with one of the pulleys. Check each pulley for play. If any pulley can wobble, the belt will come off. It's probably falling off and they breaking after getting caught up in the works. Let me know what you find, and I can provide repair advice.

What are the symptoms of a failed harmonic balancer on a oldsmobile 03 bravada smart trak 2wd engine vortec 4200. The fan clutch is really wobbly where it connects to the harmonic balancer pulley

The fan clutch is connected to the water pump. The harmonic balancer is the crank pulley. If the fan clutch/pulley the fan clutch is attached to is sloppy than the water pump is bad.

THE BATTERY LIGHT CCAME ON AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO STEER POWER STEERING FLUID IS THERE BELT CANE UNRAVELED NO HOSES APPEAR TO BE LEAKING OR BROKE. HOW DO I PUT THE BELT BACK ON

First check all pulleys for wobble or looseness. If all pulleys are OK, use the below diagram to put the belt on all pulleys except alternator. Put a wrench on tensioner pulley and pull down until the belt will slip onto the alternator pulley. Check that belt is still on all pulleys before starting. If belt comes off again, one of the components is failing (usually an idler, tensioner or water pump wobbling).

High pitched howling and screeching (yes two different noises). The howling appears to happen when the air conditioning compressor pulley engages. The screeching, my guess would be from the belt. Any...

When the AC compressor kicks on, an electrical load is placed on the alternator and the drive belt that turns the alternator pulley, if not tight enough, can cause the belt to squeal. Replacing the belt should help with that noise if the belt is stretched from wear. The screeching noise can be from a bad idler pulley, a bad belt tensioner pulley or a bad alternator pulley or a failing clutch on a very old ac compressor and rarely a water pump pulley. To check pulleys remove the drive belt and turn them individually to see if they can be tilted up down or sideways with play in the "bearing" of the pulley. Also, you may wish to visually inspect the clutch on the ac and look for melted black rubber around the bolts that secure the clutch to the compressor (stinks, smokes and melts these rubber areas if ac compressor clutch fails).

Turn the motor off and move the pulley by hand, if theres alot of slop in it, change out the water pump.
