Lights Arrgh, the lights on my 1998 sable LS are driving me nuts. 1. they don't seem bright enough at night 2. high beams aren't any brighter than the normal lights 3. I can't find the new light aiming guide anywhere on the internet. Please, please, please link me to it or send me an e-mail. 4. I noticed that when i have the lights on, i can pull out on the switch and it will come out a little ways like for activating fog lights (mine doesn't have them) Is there a way i can tap that fog light connection so that i can install my own without having to mount an extra switch on the dash? 5. what's the best way to temporarily clear slightly yellowed/clouded lenses? I'm thinking some quality wax and a good buffing should do the trick, any other suggestions/ideas?

my first priority is to get the new ford instruction manual on how to re-aim the headlights. If you have any information regarding how i can get a pdf or the new how 2.0 book mailed to me i'll be very grateful.

I'll worry about the fog lights later.

You are most likely going to have to replace the head lights because the yellowing is in the plastic lenses. As far as the fog lights if you have electricity at the plugs for the lights when you turn the switch on there should be no problem.Make sure that you have a relay in place (if nessesary)and a fuse in the spot for the fog lights in the fuse box.

Front headlights do not light up like they should.

is there a headlight raising /lowering switch inside the vehicle , these are very common and are usually a wheel type switch or a turn type ,both have numbers on them , 1 low -4or5 high , the owners manual should confirm if this is a component fitted to you vehicle

I have 2006 grand prix and the bright lights wont come on. I move the blinker lever forward and the low beams stay on but i get the blue bright light on the dash, checked fuses all seem to be okay

do you hear the click of the dimmer switch when you move the lever if you do then the steel rod that goes from the lever to the switch itself is working and the switch is moving from the low beam to high beam circuit.if the blue dash indicator is on them power is coming out of the switch to the dash to operate the light.its possible that the dimmer switch may need to be adjusted a little if you don`t hear the click but moves enough to put the dash light on but not enough to turn the high beams on,that is possibly why the low lights stay on.or you have a bad dimmer switch itself

Does this model use a 4 headlight bright system? I have 2 low beam lights but when I put on the bright lights the 2 low beam lights go out and only the 2 bright lights stay on.

I think that many 1990s and even some 1980s GM vehicles with seemingly 4 headlight systems actually use only 2 at a time.

My 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais, for instance, had 2 high beams that went on independently of the 2 low beam lights when switched with the turn signal lever.

In the 1970s the GM vehicles had 4 headlight systems where all 4 headlights would go on, but they used sealed beams rather than the capsule lights that are used nowadays.

For instance, our 1976 Cadillac Seville has a 4 headlight system that lights up 4 headlights on the high beam mode.

Good luck on seeing at night with the current set up.

Cannot adjust low and high beam headlights separatlyLexus LS 430

Shine your head lights on a wall either in your garage or outside wall and re-adjust your head light back to were you think you had them last. Use the high beam and the low beam settings and you will be able to beam the light were you think they should be. Common problem with most new vehicles now days, low beams don't seem to be bright enough.
