I had gone out and bought a new battery for my truck and it still keeps dieing, but even when it dies i still drive my truck until i turn it off and then it wont start back up. is there anything else that could be wrong with it besides the alternator?

I need more information than it just keeps dying. Is the battery dying. Do you have to give it a boost. Can you tell if the alternator is charging as you are driving. Does the dashboard light get brighter when you step on the gas. I am guessing that if the battery. My guess is that you need a new Alternator voltage Regulator. They cost under $70 and are apparently easy to replace but incredibly hard to diagnose in a car so if when you are driving and your dash lights brighten or your headlights brighten when you step on the gas that could be the problem.

When it dies, does it start right back up? Or when it dies does the starter cranks the engine over but it will not start until it sits for a little bit?

are there any after market things added to the car. like a radio or alarm

you need to check the alternator

Sounds like belt is missing. If gone the altenater wont charge the battery back up so it just sucks the power out of it when running.

if you have a multi meter disconnect positve battery terminal and put red wire to battery and black to battery cable put multi meter on resistance should be 0.005 or less if more then check for things that may be plugged in to cig lighter etc turn door lights off etc dont turn key on any more than 0.005 will drain battery

SOUNDS LIKE U HAVE A DEFECTIVE ALTERNATOR.IT WAS CHARING WHEN IT LEFT THE SHOP SO THERE IS NO WIRING ISSUE.BAD ALTERNATOR

try to check ignition switch or replace it

clean the cables, if still not working, every time you finished using the car disconnected the negative cable from the battery. and then connected it back when about to use it again.
