Fuel Injector cold start valve, this will directly affect the problem you are having.

Good luck, and let me know if there is anything else. Also, replacing the distributor cap and rotor are never a bad idea. along with the plugs and wires. with the price of fuel, it never hurts to get better mpg.

SOURCE: No spark, 1988 Toyota Camry 3SFE 4cyl, 5 speed.

there is no crank sensor on this vehicles 2.0L. If you have power to the coil, new coil, cap and rotor try this if not done yet>>>Unplug coil power first....Try pulling off the distributor cap, and make sure the rotor is spinning with the cam...If this fails to spin, inspect the entire distributor assembly. If it passes, Inspect all the power circuit and wiring to the dist assembly, if ok possible ecu. i recommend having a mechanic check it out!! Hopefully this helps...please rate...thanks

Yes. First, in the fuse block under the hood check INJ A fuse and INJ B fuse. INJ A fuse is circuit 1039 which feeds the coil. If the fuse is OK, replace the coil electrical connector. I stock 2 of these at my dealership because they are needed quite often.
FYI P1351 is an ignition coil control circuit DTC.

2005 BMW 1 Series 1116i cranks but no start - plenty of fuel and fuel pumps working . no start

what fuel?, gas or diesel, LPG, LNG, e100 what?
(E81/E82/E87/E88; ? aka E8x says
"the four-cylinder turbo-diesel, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol, six-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and six-cylinder turbocharged petrol (the latter only available on coup? and convertible models)."
I can not guess engines !, if not told straight up."
what does 1116i mean., google returns zip, a typo or bounced a key? YES !
or post the country and VIN and we tell you what is under the hood
and is first, step.
let we wild guess it burns GASoline (petrol)
and has spark (sure does) and spark is dead
DIY.
all fuses good
and next we scan the car at the OBD1 scan port USA, 16pins.
it then tells my why spark is dead.
and why spray test fuel fails. a standard easy test, for prove spark and engine are ok for 100 years, the same exact test.

your engine is here. find it and tell it for 10x more exact answers for free.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_BMW_engines

OK googling me like crazy car really is
Series 1.6 116i just 2 ones. no three.
I guess this is a BMW test day?
best I can tell that is an E87 BMW,actual
E87 1 Series 5 door 116i has a naturally-aspirated Inline 4 cylinder engine, Petrol motor. 1596 cm3 (1.6l)
This engine produces a maximum power of 115 PS (113 bhp - 85 kW) at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 150 Nm (110 lb.ft) at 4300 rpm.

So if E87 it is then it has spark and no fuel ever burns lacking spark
and must be scanned, after all fuses test good
here is the best test (EFI ways) DYI
1: connect scan tool & key on make sure scan tool works.!!!
2 CRANK FOR 5 SECONDS, AND RELEASE KEY
3: DO NOT TURN KEY OFF NOW.
4: SCAN AGAIN SEE WHY ECU TELLS YOU WHY SPARK IS DEAD,
IT SURE WILL, DTC P-3XX , HARD HARD ERRORS. LIKE THESE.
CPM DEAD.
CKP DEAD
SPARK DEAD.
FUSES DEAD
BATTERY WEAK
.
AND MORE, NOT SCANNING IS THE PROBLEM
YOU CAN NOT FIX MODERN CARS LACKING THE TOOL SO RENT ONE/?

MY GUESS THIS IS THE CAR

BMW 318i 2004 injectors are not spraying or opening

Have you checked for voltage to the injectors? If all of them are not working it could be something as simple as a blown fuse or a faulty relay. Try this website as there were some updates done to some 3 Series models around 2007.

1992 isuzu rodeo has no spark I have changed the coil , the rotor , the spark control modual , the ecm , the pick up coil , still no spark could it be the ecm relay ??

double posted, why?
I guess you are h3ll bent on gue$$ and not testing.
so keep going replace everything, we love to watch.
why not use the diagnostic jumper as posted in your other posting.
why>?
no spark out of coil right.
recap of last answers.
fuses, good, all 7 for ecu +spark good????????
we test them not guess, but ones that look blown are.
CEL Glow key on,?
flash codes ok 5 seconds cranked.
CKP good , the ECU will tell you its bad with flash codes.
why skip this key test??????????????????????????

The ECU must have power ! this is first. not changing out tons of stuff, 12vdc power,, and there are 7 fuses.
i bet you never tested them
or measure all ecu power pins to see if its has power first.
and is FIRST, no brain,(ecu)no spark and then no fueling.
if the CKP is dead, there can be nos spark.
ever.
I can only presume you connected a good new spark plug
to the actual coil tower point, then ground the spark shell.
and cranked and spark really is dead, 100 years, same way.
if dead, check 7 fuses.... seen in the book on car.
log in to mitchells diy. (google that)
and read how it works, its all there, read it.
a schematic to.

Power at fuelpump relay from main relay and ignition, but no signal from computer. scanner had 5 codes but after unhook battery for a while now codes. does have a open circuit listed on fuel pump

why not post the codes. ???
usa car 96, has many codes, not one, useless or not useful.
(gas cap loose excepted)
Does all lights on car work and radio, bright head lights.?
cranks robustly, ?
spark good,? ECU cuts fuel any time one of 3 park failures, fail.?
so, spark is next.
then if spark is ok then we try test fuel. (spray )0if that fails, cam belt fell off or lost time on cam, every 60k happens.(spec)

if runs and sounds ok on test fuel, good.
crank engine for 5 full seconds, release key does the scan tool show errors. NOW? it will if those 3 spark things above, are failing.
even a dead tacho line can kill all injections.
or if TPS outputpin stuck at 5v due to ground wire to it cut,at TPS,

ok now the relay.
ECU does ground the coil (see schematic?)
but only for 3 seconds, keyon, (repeats key on).
then turns off (all G16s 91+ do that 3 sec rule.)
then the relay closes, cranking full time. look now, 96 relay is on the heater box, behind the glove box, the pink wires are BINGO FUEL.

if that works 12v on pinkk, then check fuel pressure
is car a 2 door? if 2doors, the pit behind left rear tail light
see g402 ground that is pump ground and loves to rust there.(kills pump dead)
as does the pink wires there (rust), (connectors)
see 96 ecu schematic here.

http://www.fixkick.com/schematics-run.html

read the pump page.
http://www.fixkick.com/INJECTORS/pump.html#pumptests
got 34psi

1994 Geo Metro will not start

all spark plugs dead. and at the main coil?
in this case after fuse (test them , ones that look good can be bad)
these steps work or all EFI cars made.
first is the rotor spinning cranking, if not the cam belt snapped!
a 1 second check, do you try to run 60k mile belts 200k ?

  1. CEL lamp on? key on? no crank? y/n,, if no the ECU is dead. or lamp burned out, we fix this FIRST. for next tests.
  2. I insert the diagnostic jumper clip (paper clip)
  3. the CEL now flashes codes, write them all down.
  4. I then crank for 5 seconds. and release the key.
  5. The ECU then reports live codes. beyond above stored codes.
  6. The ECU is very good at finding bad crank or cam sensors dead or even missing pulses, 1 in 10 lost. trust it, on all cars ......
  7. if no sensor code errors or spark bad errors then do the next things.
  8. The ecu also reads back the Tacho signal and will report dead tacho, sig, the ECU creates this and is the COIL drive signal to the ignition coil via the IGNITOR device.
  9. If the ignitor dies, or the coil primary opens, (dead Ign.coil) then the ECU see this and gives you Spark fail codes, cranking only!
  10. if you get far with a dead ignition coil, the ignitor is bad or the coil assuming coil even has power 12vcd key on.
this is all in the FSM, if you read it.
as is the Ignitior tests, and the coil tests.
The FSM is an amazing thing if your read it.
buy one.

ECU = engine brain, or EFI brain
EFI = eletronic fuel injection
CEL is the check engine light also called SES or MIL.
your ECU is OBD1 and no scan tool works .
only the winky blinky light.

Turns over but no start

WHAT ENGINE ?????? 4, 5.2 or 5.9 Liters?
Fuses are First, always for ever. on electrics or EFI.
dry rail cranking ! you must crank it.
(if you have liking injector or leaking regulator it can drop fast ,so crank on) yes, 2 men or 1 and small boy, LOL
so check voltage at the pump cranking. please stop guessing.!

the ECU commands up the PUMP , cranking or running
so crank and read voltages at pump or at FP relay.

pump activating, is by premissives. not just a key on event
due to crash and burn rules. (unlike on TV)
same with injection. (spark must be good)
first , buy your self a voltmeter (DMM/DVM) its a very easy tool to use
and on volts, mode, totally harmless to you or car. !!!

be aware, that on some cars
if there is no spark, there is no fuel pumping
or it might take a second to detect no spark and the pump is cut
or on one of my cars the pump works the engine starts for 1second
and the ECU sees no spark (dead tachometer ) even though spark is
good the ECU sees no spark and ALL fuel is cut, injectors and fuel pump relay ( you never monitored the action of the relay?. and its dead.? i bet?) spark monitoring can fail with good spark, !!!
the path, on all cars.............. pins and colors change to confuse...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
the FUEL pump relay is in the PDC
it has 4 pins, its just a 4 pin std, relay.
a coil and a contactor
if the coil is not HOT (12v across the coil) cranking
there will never ever be pump action.
so the first test is to check the PUMP relay coil wires.
the coil hot side is 12vdc key on
the other wire, marked. C20 DB (dark blue?)
it is 12v keyon
and when you crank the PCM grounds this wire and it must go
to 0v, (0.5v max) if not the PCM is in CUT FUEL MODE.
99.999999% sure, its not a bad PCM. see?
if this line dont go low you must find out why the PCM is in cut fuel.
this is pretty easy, its called a scan tool. got one
they only cost $9 (ask)
if the coil is hot at C18 relay pin and 0v at C20
this state the Relay is energized.
so we check pins C16 and 17,of said relay
we check C16 first. its 12v even key off, hot at all times if not, the fuse is blown. (or battery totally dead)
then crank and pin C17 goes hot(note my order of testing, its not random) C17 dead, is bad relay, C17 12v, cranking is dead pump.

C17 is DG/wht wire, (darkgreen.with white stripe?)
if this wire is cut the pump is dead
so is the pump dead, if hot this wire is, and the pump ground wire is cut.
when i say cut that means cut or corrosion, etc.
eg; gross resistance in the path.

takes 4min to show, and longer to type this...
the G305 pump ground black must not be bad. (12v on black wire is just that while cranking)

i will not fully cover PCM permissive on the pump.
but will do so in short.
1: ECU sees spark loss, for any reason.. even when good real.
All ECu do this differently. many read the spark coil primary
wires of inductive (EMF) kickback , on one or all coils.
other cars its just the tachometer signal dead.
2: CMP errors (cam sensor)
3: CKP errors. (crank sensor)
4: TPS stuck at WOT , usually only cuts injectors.. (unflood mode)

ive built and programmed PCMs from scratch and am aware of all pitfalls here. am.
if have the drawings, ask.
or log in to Alldata.com

again, connect the $9 scan tool
keyon
crank for 5 seconds. (min) max 15)
does RPM roll from 0 to near 300? no? bingo.
does DTC 340 or 350 store as you crank or release key
and do not turn off key, wait 1 second, see if DTCs are stored
in the PCM looking with any scan tool made..
if yes, BINGO !!!!

1991 Geo Tracker Won't Start - Has No Spark And No Fuel Replaced: Control Module, Coil, Igniter, Distributor, Rotor And Cap, Main And Fuel Pump Relays, Under Hood Main Fuse Box And Fuses, Fuel Filter, Is...

sounds like canada or USA car, is it?
i just restored one, know it like back of hand.
no inertial switch, of any kind, no upside down car switch. like my mazda either. and that cuts fuel not spark.'

want to trouble shoot it or guess and go broke?
no spark, clear as day, and the ECU cuts fuel with no spark.
so forget fuel. totally.
ready to fix spark?
and you said no spark but failed to say,
at the coil or all 5 places. big deal that....

the ECU will talk to you, and tell you why, 1/2 the time.
is your tachometer dead, cranking> 4x4 have tach.
and will move to 0.3K rpm that is 3/10s of below 1 mark.
the 1 means 1000, so 3ths is 300 rpm. cranking. does it?
if not the ECU will throw,,no spark codes, 2nd clue.
what to learn?
http://www.fixkick.com/IGN_timing/no-spark.html

first check for spark that the ignition coil. center tower.
how:
in 1991,in the USA the spark creation changed, radically
the ECU generates park, in this way.
CMP in dizzy makes cam signal (there is no crank trigger in 91)
the CMP makes perfect square way
the ECU sees that. and triggers the ignitor
the ignitor charges the coil, and spark happens at the coil tower.
does yours?

if the eCU sees a missing CMP signal you get code 41.
if the ecu sees missing spark read back, code 42
you must crank for 5 seconds release the key to see codes of this type.,class.
do you know how to use the diagnostic jumper paper clip yet.

We have a 2001 hyundai accent. There are 2 chipped keys that have been programmed by the dealer that we can use to drive the vehicle. We also have a 3rd key that we purchased as a spare but it only unlocks...

Only a dealer can make and program a chipped key.To program it yourself requires a machine which probably costs at least $2,000-$3,000 and access to the codes which would not be available to the public/consumers for any reason.Greg
