How to locate the crank positioning sensor on a 1999 dodge caravan 3.0 l motor

2005 Dodge Caravan SE 2.4L Engine. Crank Shaft Sensor is located on the front of the engine (side toward the radiator) and right below the starter.
Raise the vehicle on stands or ramps. From under the vechcle, unclip the wire plug. Loosen and remove the 8mm bolt. Pull out old sensor.
This CAN be done WITHOUT removing the starter. Easiest way is to use a deep 8mm x 1/4” drive socket and good lighting. I had to use vise grips to grip and pul out the old sensor. It is okay to twist and pull.
NOTE: I have seen many posts placing this sensor in all kinds of places. For this vehicle, this is where it is located. If you have a different engine or year, it could be located someplace else.

Crankshaft senor. This sensor supplies info to the ECM, that inturns sends the info to the ignition module that controls the spark. Check the codes.

For 1991 Dodge Truck Caravan 4WD 3.3L MFI 6cyl the Crankshaft Position Sensor is located: Under hood, center, rear engine area, where transaxle bellhousing meets engine, mounted in engine block.

Crank sensor is in the bell housing of the transmission. Cam sensor is in the distributor.

The crank sensor is located on the top side of the transmission about 11:oo clock position

located on the transmission in the rear of the engine where the engine and trans bolt together small cyinder with a ribbon wire coming from it

Reset the Dodge PCM - Instructions:

1. Open the hood of the Dodge
   
2. Locate the battery and remove the black-wired negative terminal from the battery.
   
3. Turn the ignition key to the "on/crank" position for 30 seconds, then replace the ignition key to the "off" position.
   
4. Reconnect the negative battery terminal and close the hood.
   
5. Turn the ignition key until the Dodge starts and allow it to idle. Check the dashboard for the malfunction indicator light status.

On the 3.3 3.8 engine it is located where the transmission meets the engine block at the rear near the rear engine mount.

it is located on the bellhousing of the transmission it gets its signal from the flywheel.look where the transmission bolts to the engine.
