Check engine lite on when checked by auto store alot of codes came up changed the upstream sensor but still on.

I hope that one of the codes that came up showed that you needed an upstream sensor. I say this because it is possible you didn't need a sensor. You would need to share with me the codes that were retrieved from your car for me or any one else to give you an answer. Please be more specific as to what is going on with your vehicle, and get back to me. I will do my very best to help you.

SOURCE: CODE P1405

Check the hoses to the DPFE sensor from the exhaust pipe, the sensor is near the EGR valve, if the hoses are ok then replace the sensor, careful not to tear the special heat resistant silicone rubber hoses, they are about $10 each and ordinary rubber hose will burn up.

I got a p0141 code on my 2001 tacoma v6 what is the problem

p0141 indicates that the heater in the upstream (#1) oxygen sensor has failed. It will take longer for the O2 sensor to heat up, taking longer for the computer to go into closed loop, which burns more fuel. Replacing this sensor is pretty easy, I believe it involves removing one plug and two bolts. After it's replaced, any auto parts store with a code reader can turn the check engine light off, for free.

I need to replace my oxygen sensor in my vehicle. I'd like to know how many there are and where they are located.

Most cars have at least 2 oxygen sensors, one before the catalytic converter, one after on the exhaust, and sometimes repeated if a V engine so then you would have 4. The OBD code if you get them read (can be done at an auto parts store) will tell you something like "sensor 1, bank 2" That would be the upstream sensor(sensor 1), on the exhaust side NOT containing the #1 cylinder(bank 2). But check the codes as a starting point so you are not replacing all of the sensors. The sensors are easy to replace, if you can get to it easily. Also, the sensor that usually goes bad is one of the upstream sensors, which is also the one your computer adjust fuel/air mix with. They are sold at any auto parts store.

Engine light on and idling rough

What code(s) are coming up when scanned?

You said you changed "the" O2 sensor? I believe your vehicle has two O2 sensors. One is located upstream from the catalytic converter and the other is located downstream from it. Is it possible that you changed one and left the other?
