Vsc and vsc off and check engine, light stays on.
Auto Zone indicates that codes PO446,PO440,PO441 are my problem. What do I do to fix the problem?
We finally took the car to the dealer after wasting over $400 in "dart throwing" at the problem. The dealer replaced the following: master cylinder, front brake pads, shims, resurfaced rotors, right and left caliper. After having an absolute fit since they were the original purchase dealer and the vehicle has less than 85,000 miles, the original estimate was dropped from $1300 to a net total of $962.74. Of course 60% of that was labor!!
The moral of the story is: if you are a handy mechanic, you may want to overhaul your brakes such as above (the Avalon is worth it). It will save you $500!!!
If not, I would suggest taking it to a dealer or someone that will supply an airtight warranty...again the Avalon is worth it!
First thing is to take the car to AutoZone and have them scan the codes (it's free, where a dealer will hit you with an hour's labor). Get the codes from them and post them as a reply/comment here, and we can take it from there.

SOURCE: vsc vsc off check engine lights on
the reason the VSV light is on is because your engine light is on it is a safety reason when the check engine light comes on and a sertine code is set and it disables cruise control and traction control (VSV) you need to have the code pulled to see why the engine light came on then get back to me and i can pinpoint your problem and fix it my email is jagjeffery @yahoo.com or contact me here at FIXYA

You have to use a scanner and pull the code out that is causing the check engine light to come on. whatever code/codes you find are probably related to vsc light.
Good luck and keep me posted

Same problem. After reading this site im going to read the codes myself and go from there. Afraid the dealer will rip me off. Car runs just fine, still 28 mpg on highway.
2002 Avalon and the rear brakes are locked. Trac off, vsc, abs lights are on. Had to have car towed into my garage as I got stuck in the middle of the alley trying to back in. Had the rotor and caliper replaced on the locked wheel...still happening. What is this?
I have the same problem and those are the exact codes i already replaced the brake cap, what else?
