{: ) There are many components in the airbag system of a vehicle and each one plays a distinct function in order to ensure a reliable protection, and timely deployments of the airbag in cases of extreme collisions.
You may be referring to the front and side impact sensors. These sensors are always on the front lines, meaning they usually are the first, the closest, and receives the most impact in collision situations.
The front impact sensors (left and right) are located on the front frame crossmember.
The right side impact sensor is located under the right front door trim near the lower rear of the door frame. The left side impact sensor is located under the left front door trim near the lower rear of the door frame.

Collision System Sensor in 05 Yukon Denali xl is malfunctioning

you have two front collision sensors int he front. drivers and passengers. if you know which side it is then just order one from the dealer. to replace the sensor just disconnect the battery and locate the sensor, they are mounted below the rad. unbolt the bad sensor unplug connector and mount new one.. plug in connector and then reconnect battery. the airbag light will come on for the startup procedure and then once the airbag startup is passed and no problems are found the light should go out. Good luck

2004 pacifica impact sensors, airbags

you may not always have to replace sensors, but you will have to change the airbag module (usually under front seat, sometimes in middle of dash) To remove the passenger airbag you have to take out the dash.
