I'm working with a 1994 4 cyl. 2.2L Camry. It suddenly started running rough. Like a bad miss. Replaced the plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor button....no change. There is fire going to the plugs (checked it by pulling the wires and grounding to metal) When I pulled the wire on one cylinder, there was no noticeable change in the way the engine idled. The others produced an even rougher idle when they were pulled. I'm thinking that is the problem cylinder. I'm thinking distributor coil is bad but not sure. Any thoughts? Thanks.

It may be an injector problem on that cylinder, the injector could be blocked or the wiring or connector is faulty.....hope this helps......cheers.

Replaced plugs , wires, distributer cap, rotor, no. 3 cyl. not hitting all the time

The problem could be related to the fuel injector instead of the ignition system.

1994 camry won't start after cleaning under the hood check dist. cap replaced spark plugs sounds like its going to start then doesn't.

Sounds like wet or moist spark plug wires. If this also occurs during early morning high dew point humid air, then you may have spark plug wires shorting out.

Replace wires.

My 1994 camaro is running a bit sluggish and rough sounding. what's the simplest solutions?

Simplest, wait till it's dark outside, start the car, open the hood, look where the spark plug wires run,let your eyes get used to it for a minute,if you see a glow along a wire or sparks between them
Put a set on.
Might look inside the dist. cap and make sure the top dist. bushing is still tight, the rotor should not move side to side at all.

1995 toyota camry runs very well accept when at idle its rough 4 cyl.

You need to have a full tune up done on the vehicle. Plugs, wires, air filter, dist. cap, dist. rotor, and oil service. This greatly increases the operation of the motor if they are old and worn. I hope that this points you in the right direction. Please rate if i was able to help you.

Intermittantly runs rough, gas smell at tailppie, smoke ---replaced tp,and fuel press regulater

I am having the same problem.... Same car.. I replased all injectors, wires, plugs, dist. Cap and rotor. Pcv valve... Egr valve is good.. it runs great then starts missing bad, fuel smell out the tail pipe and it smokes.... Then it'll clear up for a bit or even a while the it repeats it self... And it seems to me like a sensor or something eletrical is causing the sudden miss and fuel problem.. but I'm lost... I don't know what else to do..

Engine idles rough, misses at 2500-3000 rpm's

i would first check the timing and if that does not fit i would take the cover back off and look at the belt for a bad or missing tooth
