You can easily check it by removing the tire the grab the brake rotor and rocking it side to side. If it moves by hand and you can visually see it too, you certainly have a worn socket in the ball joint. Take notice of the tie rod end which is connected to the same spindle the ball joint attaches to also

The extent of damage is literally impossible for any of us to give you an honest diagnosis without seeing it. Have it towed to a local competent shop near you and have them look at it. (sorry)

Grinding sound from frontend when corning

You have a worn or damaged CV joint. Your local service professional should be able to verify diagnosis. Have your ball joints and entire front suspension inspected also.

My car has a problem of front right ball joint play..what that mean?

The ball joint is a suspension part the connects the spindle to the control arm. If someone says it has play it means it's worn. This could cause knocking sound going over bumps, it could also throw off the wheel alignment. If it gets bad enough you could lose a wheel, but this does not happen that often. Good luck.

Front right tire suspension squeaks at every bump and turn

have the frontend checked out....can be ball joint or tie rod ends.....It can also be control arm bushings or swaybar bushings..Try spraying some lithium grease on swaybar bushings and contro arm bushings...if noise goes away, consider changing them.

Ball joint replacement-2003 Ford Sport Trac

if you dont have a ball joint press and dont know how to use one then dont do it, but if you do its not that bad of a job just jack the truck up under the control arm remove the brake rotor then take the lower ball joint nut off then use a pickle fork to break the ball joint loose then take the axle nut off push the axle out of the bearing and use the ball joint press to remove and replace the ball joint

if the guy you have working on your car does not know what a ball joint is, or where it is located, i would not have him working on my car!!!! You can have him lift the front end of your car up and by grabbing the top and bottom of the tire and move it in a top to bottom motion and see if there is movement in the ball joint. The ball joint is located at the bottom of the spindle(the thing that holds the front tire) it may have a grease fitting that is visible at the bottom of the ball joint, there is also an upper ball joint on that car aswell. You can also check the tie rod also by grabbing the tire to the right and left and jiggle it tto the right and left to see if there is any movement in the tie rod located on that same spindle up about half the distance up and towards the the rear of the car on both sides. All parts will be available at any online parts place or jobber. And nothing thats worth anythingthing is free Bro.
