Hi there,

Inspect the following components, in this order (with key off) until you get it working:

** Disconnect the plugs from the Horn terminals. Run separate jumper wires from the Batt (NEG & POS), to the horn. If horn does not work, then replace horn. If horn works fine, then continue....

** Check fuse # 10 (15A), in the Battery Junction Box - replace if defective. Check horn operation.

** Check Horn Relay (also in the Battery Junction Box) - remove the relay, give it a gentle tap, and plug back in. Check horn operation.

If all the above prove ok, then the fault lies in your steering wheel/horn switch assembly.

Remove front Wheel inner fender cover. Look in upwards and above front fender you will find 2 Hex head bolts for the Horn bracket.

Check on Passenger Compartment Panel, position 6, 10AMP (right horn) and on the Power Distribution Center (underhood) position 28, 20AMP (horn relay).

Additional details could find in the 2002-Ford-Explorer owners manual (page 229 and next).

Its the horn unit itself just replace it but check the connection on the horn first.

Flash lights on locking doors with control

he is pushing the button a second time which is unnecessary.
it will cause damage to the lock actuators. yours will do it if you push the lock button a second time, but i do not recommend as stated above.

Horn location 1996 ford explorer xlt

your horn has also has a fuse so just change that and you should be fine and that is located under thew stearing wheel and it is the 2nd one to the right and it is a 30A
