This could so many differant things causeing this i will try to give it to you in a nut shell .It could be an under charge or an over charge witch is not likely . But the first thing to do is have the R134 -a gas pressure tested it needs to be with in limits . Dose the heat work and the fan and the vent controls to send heat to differant vent areas to control there functions . If all of this is good then check the relay to see if voltage is going to the 3 switches . # 1 is the clutch switch for the compresser is it hot # 2 is the low pressure on the rear of the accumilateris it hot # 3 is the high pressure switch on the rear of the compresser is it hot . Look around all connectoins and fittings there is a green die in the gas with oil to suspened it if you can see green around connections you have a leak .If not the switches do go bad from time to time . Good luck

Check to make sure high pressure switch in back of compressor is plugged up . also make sure low pressure switch on accumulator has good connection.

SOURCE: 1999 Jimmy 4wd not engaging. It has push button

could be your front actuator or your actuator motor on the transfer case.

I have a 98 bonneville se. the blower fan only comes on when the knob is all the way up and it ONLY blows heat and absolutely no cold also the air only blows out the defroster and the floor

How did you test the A/C system ? Hook up gauge manifold , test A/C pressures ? Manual or automatic climate control ? The blower motor only working on high means the blower motor resistor is bad ! Did you hook up a scan tool an check high an low pressure switchs inputs to the PCM - engine computer . Does the A/C compressor clutch engage ? turning on the compressor ? Moving the mode switch does nothing . Doesn't move from floor to vent to defrost ? Probably the mode door actuator ! Don't think the HVAC control panel is bad . Just a few little things . Pushing the A/C button on the control panel just send a electrical signal to the PCM , the PCM will energize the A/C clutch relay , turning on the compressor .

Check the fuses.

It is strange that the compressor engages when the button is on, but the light does not work.

Chevy pickup 4-wheel drive won't engage

Replace the push button selector assembly. Common failures. If that isnt the problem then the encoder motor on transfer case has failed. Try switch first.

4x4 doesn't engage

that box does engage the transfercase to 4x4,there is a small electric motor on the transfercase thats probably bad,try hitting it lightly with a hammer because just like an electric window motor it has brushes in it as well, but its possible that motor is shorting out causing it to draw alot from the charging system,at least my 1993 Ford Bronco did the same thing and thats what i replaced and now it works fine.
