You say the check engine light is on, if so there will be a system fault code, read that code with a OBD2 code reader

Either of those is possible, but also possible your mechanic is wrong. Your searching warrants further checking. Did he actually look at your old wheel hubs on the jeep? Find the abs sensor on your jeep, and then you will know. I think you may be right, and your mechanic is wrong.

im saying its a bad wheel bearing

There are a number of reasons it could be on. Including a bad controller for the ABS, or the sensor not giving the ABS controller a signal.

check brake fluid level ,worn pads, this can cause light to come on disconnect negative battery cable whait 2min and reconnect battery this will reset abs controller.

You have to check you brakes yourself or take it to the shop, I had a brake light on and once I change the rotors and brake pads the brake light went off.

try to disconect the batery it will reset the computer if the abs light doesnt go off then check your brakes

It is probably a wheel sensor not reading right. In order to read the abs system you have to have the program that reads this information.
