Nissan versa gas treatment

I have taken my 2007 Nissan Versa Hatch back to the dealership twice to have my fuel regulator fixed. My car does not want to start right away and when driving the RPM'S surge. Is it safe to use a Gas Treatment in my Versa to help keep the fuel moving better? I read in the drivers manual not to and was afraid. Please help!

Nissan does not recommend to due to the fact that some of the solvents can deteriate parts of the fuel injectors. On the other hand I have managed multiple auto service facilities and have performed injector cleanings with no problems.. The surging that you are experience does not sound like faulty or clogged injectors(especially given the year of your car). As far as the regulator goes I doublt that is the fault either. The need to check fuel psi. to be sure. Are and fault codes appearing(check engine light)?

I agree with Gary, it's not likely the regulator. More than likely it is the check valve in the fuel pump that doesn't hold the pressure after the car is shut off. Adding a treatment won't do anything but drain your wallet.

Trying to find out how to check fuel relay in 2007 nissan versa

Had this problem last summer: car wouldn't start, though turned over, so I bought new battery. The problem turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator, which sits atop the fuel pump beneath your back seat. For a full (if bloody and funny) repair documentary, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FaJlkQlkTg.

Codes p0031 p1148 ? What/where are they?

I am having the very same problem with my 2007 Nissan Versa right now as well. However, I have one more additional code: P0142. P0031 refers to the front oxygen sensor heater circuit, low imput. P1148 says: Air/Fuel sensor s connection is shortened or open. I have been digging around online, and have come up with a possible bad upstream O2 sensor, a bad bank 1, sensor 3 malfunction (and replacement), and a possible connection problem. I have NO idea why all of these problems would arrive from a car that's only 3 years old. I've been trying to search for any recalls, considering if it's taken to a dealer to fix, the end cost will be over $600. That's just plain crazy!!
