SOURCE: Where is the radiator cap on 2001 Olds Alero?

if you dont see a radiator cap then the cap for your resevoir tank also serves as your radiator cap, thats where you would put your radiator cleaner and dex-cool in at. it is pressurized just like a normally radiator is with a normal radiator cap on it so dont open it when its hot! the resevoir cap should also have dex-cool stamped on it

SOURCE: I have a coolant leak.2001 alero 4cy 2.4

Look around the sides of the motor. Aleros are famous for faulty pan gaskets. Ours has been in the shop twice for this. If the mechanic doesn't get it put in just right it will continue to leak.

SOURCE: Squeak in front end

Okay....I have been working on my boss' car for a week with this SAME issue....first....try to figure out the spot it is coming from. This part is the pain. Second, have a can of WD-40 and spray it into any joint you find. This squeek could be from an upper bushing, a lower bushing, an A arm bushing, or any other bushing on that side....so start out with this method first because it will only cost you a few dollars, or free if you have it already. But do one at a time till you find it. Then, you'll know what item to replace.

SOURCE: Have a small coolant leak dripping onto transaxle

It could be as simple as a leaking hose, but it may also be a corroded alloy hose fitting nipple.

Get is seen to by a mechanic before it fails completely, causing complete loss of coolant and expensive cooked motor.

How to replace volvo water reservoir 2010

Clips in and out. Make sure the engine is cold and unclip hose from bottle on top and bottom. Coolant will come spilling out, but thats okay. Replace the coolant reservoir and then re-attach the hoses, fill the coolant reservoir back up until the F line. Also top off the radiator just in case. Start the engine, let it run and drive it 5-10 miles. Then go home, let the car sit and cool down for an hour, and then re-check the coolant level in the reservoir. If low, fill back up to the F line. Then you're done!

Heat is not working - coolant was low so filled it.... problem here... heard something about an air pocket

If you dont have an external coolant leak anywhere under your hood that has shown up on your driveway it could be the intake manifold or the headgasket leaking. Also check the thermostate to solve the heat issue.

What is the coolant fill procedure for a 2007 Pontiac G6 3.5

I assume you are gearing for a overhaul of the coolant... in that case here goes.
Once you get to the point were you will be filling it, fill it to the cold line first and first make sure you have enough mixed new antifreeze on-hand to fill it to spec. Keep the tank cap off. Turn the heat on full HOT (low fan) and start the car. Keep an eye on the coolant level and add while the car is running to keep it somewhat near the cold line. Once you determine that you are not adding anymore coolant, shut down the engine and be prepared to add more coolant because it may drop when the car engine stops. If after a series of engine start/stops there is no more coolant needed and it's at the correct fill mark, screw the tank cap back on nice and snug and open the throttle a little more. Make sure heat is coming from vents to indicate circulation and a purge of air in the heater core and make sure the level doesn't drop too much. Drive a few miles and back and then shut the car off and allow to cool for several hours. Check the level once more and top off if needed(put cap back on). This should do it.

1999 Grand am GT keeps trying to overheat the heater blows cold and then it"ll kick heat on cooling the car down i've had intake gasket thermostate water pump replaced and the radiater flushed twice alond...

sounds like your either low on coolant or a possible blown head gasket, the head gasket will create too much pressure in the cooling system and blow your coolant out of the overflow and fill the heater core with air causing the heater to be cold or your just low on coolant due to a leak or improperly filled cooling system. so fill the cooling system resovoir while vehicle is running while keeping the level at "full hot" line until the fans have come on and gone back off (a/c and defrost must be off) then drive on the interstate until the heater gets hot. if the vehicle tries to push the coolant out while filling the system headgasket is a definite possibilty. BE CAREFUL COOLANT GETS HOT!!!
