Hello, I am not very familiar with Chevy transfer cases. In order to "reset" you may want to take it to a certified technician or a chevy dealer, or experienced mechanic to have it reset. This has something to do with the computer. It just has not detected that the service has been done. Having it "reset" won't necessarily make the light stay off, but it's your best bet going to a certified mechanic. I apologize for not being much help, but I'm not gonna tell you random things to try or even try to guess on how to reset this. I just don't know.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Can my four wheel drive come unplugged? I have a 93 Jeep Wrangler. I got it serviced once a few years ago and the guy told me it came unplugged and he plugged it back in and my fourwheel drive started...

Under the car in among the mud and the muck there are wire connectors that relay power to parts . If the mechanic fixed the problem by simply re connecting the wires and now the fault has returned then it has probably com undone again. When you find the connector check that it is not just hanging down but is securely clipped against the tranny

I have a warning light that came on today, looks like an engine but is lit solid not flashing, I checked the fuel cap and it is fine, should I stop driving it?

Maybe. did you check the oil, coolant level. automatic transmission fluid? The check engine light will come when your vehicle needs a major service; such as, Now, this an example, OK. Like change coolant, change the automatic transmission fluid, or change differential fluid, or it just needed 3 month, 6 months, 12 months service check up at the dealship. It could tell you even to rotate the tires.

When the check engine light comes on. you vehicle needs some type of preventive maintenance done to this Volkswagen Jetta. You need to get it check out and have them reset the check engine light. GB...stewbison

Fourwheel drive works but when i take out of fourwheel drive i have a howling noise in front end but when i put it back in fourwheel drive it goes away

There is a TSB for replacing the IWE ( Integrated Wheel Ends ) solenoid, as the 1st design can ingest water and introduce it to the IWEs, causing low vacuum, and the gears for the IWE are grinding.

http://my.voyager.net/~sscully/file_tsb06_08_15.pdf

To cure this until you get the new IWE solenoid ordered and installed, pull the vacuum lines from the IWEs and plug them. This will leave the IWE gears engaged, so they are not trying round off the teeth.

There are 2 lines to the IWE, 1 is the vacuum line, the other is a vent line, that routes into the engine compartment, with an open end, make sure you pull and plug the correct line.

This will have the front hubs engaged to a dead axle, so it will decrease mpg, and you will feel a bit of loss of power, but better than ruining a set of IWEs that will cost ~500.00 to replace.

Front end pops in and out of fourwheel drive

check for leaks in the vacuum, Jeep used a vacuum switch for the front axle during that time on the dana 30, it may have a leak or just worn where its not fully engaging and lockign all the way. It may not be holding the air as well to keep it engaged. Its a small tube.
